Instructions for resetting the PMU NOt PRAM in Powerbooks when Apple Firmware update goes wrong: Zapping the PRAM will not bring back your Bluetooth. You have to reset the PMU.(Power Management Unit) Mac OS X PowerBook G4 (12-inch), PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI), PowerBook G4 (15-inch FW 800), PowerBook G4 (17-inch) and PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.33GHz) 1. If the computer is on, turn it off. 2. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes. 3. Wait 5 seconds. 4. Press the power button to restart the computer.

Create a "pretty" stream of tweets from a hashtag, user, or twitter search. A few animation selections give it some variety, but keep things simple. Might be a nice tool for displaying a visually appealing self-updating stream of tweets for an event.

The Galileo Project is a source of information on the life and work of Galileo Galilei (1564-1642). Our aim is to provide hypertextual information about Galileo and the science of his time to viewers of all ages and levels of expertise. What you read and see here is a beginning -- we will continue to add and update information as it becomes available. We solicit contributions from our colleagues in the history of science and comments on how we can improve the project from everyone, particularly suggestions on how to make this tool more useful in primary and secondary education.

We are told 'Don't let the system get you down', and 'rail against the system' and endure the untold misery of 'We are updating your system.' Systems have a bad reputation for being bureaucratic, red-tape decorated jumping hoops. This is certainly true of many systems and no more so than in education. A system which isn't working well is clearly evident while those that are working as they should are often invisible or unnoticed, but vital to the smooth working of work, learning and life.
