40 pages of examples of how the revised Bloom's Taxonomy applies to a variety of digital applications - Drawing 3 on page 5 is particularly good as it breaks down each level of Blooms into verbs. Example: creating = programming, filming, animating, blogging, video blogging, etc. Great stuff!

Elf yourself is a very viral jib-jab style Christmas animation that lets you put 5 faces into the program and turn them into dancing elves. It is hilarious and would be great to create for that office christmas party -- it lets you download it and you could burn to dvd. (also fun addition to that family dvd you made in photostory or picasa) What fun! (And a BIG win for Office Max)

If you think that cell phones can't improve math scores -- check again - read this report about a pilot where algebra problems were sent to smartphones. (So much for "leaving your homework at school.) "During the 2007-2008 school year, Wireless Reach began funding Project K-Nect, a pilot project in rural North Carolina where high school students received supplemental algebra problem sets on smartphones (the phones were provided by the project). The outcomes are promising -- classes using the smartphones have consistently achieved significantly higher proficiency rates on their end of course exams. So what's so different about delivering problem sets on a cell phone instead of a textbook? The first obvious answer is that the cell phone version is multi-media. The Project K-Nect problem sets begin with a Flash video visually demonstrating the problem -- you could theorize that this context prepares the student to understand the subsequent text-based problem better. You could also theorize that watching a Flash animation is more engaging (or just plain fun) and so more likely to keep students' attention."

Nice interactive way of displaying data. SpicyNodes is a way to visualize online information that mimics that way that people look for things in the real world. Bits of information - such as text, links, photos, and other media - are placed into "nodes," which are then linked together in an appealing interface that invites exploration. SpicyNodes can be used for everything from mind maps and content portals to organizational charts and lesson plans.

If you discuss sun protection in your health program - here is some information for you. I had skin cancer removed when I wasn't even 30 yet! Skin Cancer has been an issue in my family and I hope you discuss this with kids. Here is information from my inbox. "With the UV Index on the rise, it's time to remind your students to Slip! Slop! Slap! and Wrap! In our effort to raise awareness about a health issue that is largely preventable and too often ignored-skin cancer, EPA encourages you to promote sun safety before the second annual Don't Fry Day on the Friday before Memorial Day (May 28, 2010). As millions of us prepare to enjoy the great outdoors this Memorial Day weekend, EPA and the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention are reminding Americans to practice sun-safe behaviors. National Geographic, Airbus, and ePals have partnered to raise awareness of biodiversity worldwide, especially among young people. A major component of this effort is a summer photo contest for students age 6-16, called "See the Bigger Picture". Students can submit digital photos online or via mailed electronic media until September 8th. The contest is open to kids aged between 6 and 16*. Submit one color image that you think captures the spirit or idea of biodiversity. It could be a favourite tree or a plant, an animal or an insect, even a whole ecosystem (from your own back yard to somewhere you've visited on vacation) - your image should show people why biodiversity is a good thing that we should try to preserve.

Neat twitter visualization site

Create a "pretty" stream of tweets from a hashtag, user, or twitter search. A few animation selections give it some variety, but keep things simple. Might be a nice tool for displaying a visually appealing self-updating stream of tweets for an event.
