This is an numeracy based educational video on money. To appeal to an early primary years' age group we set the video in the school canteen using a toy bunny (Johnny Rabbit) in place of a child, which allows children to relate better to the character while exploring the concepts of money and numeracy (The Australian Curriculum Assessment And Reporting Authority) . (ACMNA017, ACMNA034, ACMNA059). This video could be used as an initial exploration into money, with the ability of delving into more in-depth questions as the students become proficient with the concepts.

This is an Educational Numeracy Video, which can be used as a tool in the study of Money in a year 2 Classroom following the Australian Curriculum.

I've always liked Inspiration and Kidspiration for quick, easy to use ways of brainstorming. But with a $900 price tag for a 20 computer license, there just didn't seem to be any reason to pay that money when there are several robust, free alternatives. In the past couple of years, these alternatives have come close to matching, and in many aspects, surpassing what Inspiration and Kidspiration can do to help students organize their thoughts. Here are my three favs, with a few honorable mentions thrown in to boot.

Banking on Numeracy. This video helps children understand the concept of money and its value. It explains that the size of the coins doesn't relate to their value. It helps students understand that you can make up $1 in many different ways and shows them how it relates back to everyday life. Year Level:1/2

This is a video set at the Royal Adelaide Show 2011 with a focus on numeracy and how it can be linked to the community. In this video a teacher models how to solve a range of problems related to buying showbags. This video is a fantastic teaching resource as it enables the teacher to pause the video at specified points to allow the students time to complete the answer to the question posed.

Educ3625 A video that explores numeracy skills in everyday life. We used money, weight and time in order to organise our holiday to Bali.

This video explores the numeracy skills used in everyday life when posting a parcel (namely Length, Weight, Distance and Money). It can be used to either introduce new concepts or consolidate them. It also allows the teacher to pause and discuss each topic with the class through the discussion questions provided. It is aimed at Primary School students (years 2-5).
