Moodlerooms, an online learning solution that can be used for K-12 classrooms, has collaborated with Google to integrate Moodle with Google Apps Education Eduction, which allows the two communication/productivity systems to work as one great tool. Moodle administrators can create user accounts in Moodle and Google in one step, and Moodle users can access Google features through Moodle using a single sign-on system.

Google and the UN High Commission on Refugees talked up a partnership in which Google provides the pro version of its Google Earth software, its Sketchup 3D software for creating objects and structures, and extensive documentation on how to use the system to create a .KML layer. The result is a (hopefully) informative overlay that works with both Google Earth and Google Maps to tell visual stories.

A mission statement is a concise description of who an organization is and what it does. When properly constructed, a mission statement can provide a clear, concise description of an organization's overall purpose. This can enable large groups of individuals to work in a unified direction toward a common cause.

ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards NETS have served as a roadmap for improved teaching and learning by educators throughout the United States. The standards, used in every U.S. state and many countries, are credited with significantly influencing expectations for students and creating a target of excellence relating to technology. In 2006, ISTE began work on the next generation of NETS for Students, which focuses more on skills and expertise and less on tools.

The term professional learning community describes a collegial group of administrators and school staff who are united in their commitment to student learning. They share a vision, work and learn collaboratively, visit and review other classrooms, and participate in decision making (Hord, 1997b). The benefits to the staff and students include a reduced isolation of teachers, better informed and committed teachers, and academic gains for students. Hord (1997b) notes, "As an organizational arrangement, the professional learning community is seen as a powerful staff-development approach and a potent strategy for school change and improvement."
