Phixr is a free online photo editing application that supports popular social media applications such as Facebook and MySpace. Pictures can be uploaded from a computer as well as a cell phone. The free web application is user-friendly and very interactive. It is comparable to others such as Picasa; however, you don't have to have an account in order to work with your photographs.

Jing is a screen casting application that allows the user to capture pictures and videos for authentic assessment. One of Jing's best features is the fact that it sits on the user's desktop for accessibility. The images can be saved and added to other material to add depth, or it may be used to create a video.

This site provides information on getting images into your pre-training handouts . Give a step by step process for getting images into a variety of materials. There are also additional pages devoted to teaching and authentic materials and sample lesson plans

280 Slides is a site that allows users to create presentations similar to a PowerPoint. In fact, if a PowerPoint show has already been created, it can be uploaded to the site. This tool could be used by workshop participants as they collaborate to create a brief presentation about a concept discussed in the workshop. The fact that this tool is so similar to PowerPoint was a big plus, in addition to the fact that, unlike PowerPoint, when the 280 Slide presentation is completed, it can be easily shared to the Web.

I chose this site because of its ease of use and its numerous relevant features that allow me to create beautiful presentations, store them online for free, and access them from any computer that is connected to the internet

This site is a complement to the first one as it contains a video tutorial for the visual learners. The narrator has a very casual tone of voice. He is calm and composed. He goes through the tutorial at a very comfortable pace which makes him easy to follow. The learner can pause the video at anytime to practice what they've learned

It's a great resource because not only it contains a variety of word templates of graphic organizers; it also contains links to other great resources. The templates are easy to use

This is an Educational Technology presentation site that is well designed and formidably appealing. The content is organized in such a way that there is no room for extraneous processing. Great resource!

This tutorial teaches users how to most effectively use the gallery tool in the SMART software. Most users use the gallery, but do not maximize the effectiveness of this tool. The presenter in the video is a trained SMARTboard trainer and goes through the tutorial at a comfortable pace and allows users to practice as he goes through it. I found this site to be extremely beneficial for all users of SMART software, novice to expert.

This document sharing website allows users to share a large variety of documents for free. The user just has to upload their document to their dropbox and anyone with permission to view their dropbox will have access to the document. The site provides a short tutorial on using dropbox and provides users with a free account with a large storage capacity. For more storage users can upgrade their account or get other users to sign up for a free account. This site does not offer the ability to collaborate in real time, but it supports all file formats.

This YouTube site contains multiple short videos about the different tools and aspects of KidPix. It is user-friendly and easy to follow and understand. The videos do not have to be viewed in any particular order thus allowing the user to access just the information they need at that time. The videos are straight-forward and are not cluttered with other "details" as is found in the manual for the program. These videos are a perfect get started quick place to begin.

This website provides free technology tutorials as well as free lesson plans for teachers, parents, and anyone else who may be interested. The website provides step by step instructions complete with illustrations and graphics to assist the learner in utilizing specific computer programs or utilizing technology in lesson plans. The website is free to users and therefore does have advertising on it but the advertising is not overly obtrusive.

This site provides support for users to create or edit various apps available for the educator. It includes templates, how-to guides and suggestions for implementing an app.
