    Multimedia Artifacts Websites
    What is Learning Platform?
YouTube (2011). What is a learning platform?: (VLE's explained). Retrieved, May 10, 2011, from http://youtu.be/QdP4_7xXXVw

This site/video deals with the introduction and uses of a learning platform. It is cognitive engaging since information has to be processed. This artifact is learner centered in that it works for the learner, making learning more meaningful and fun. Norman, as referenced in Mayer (2009) a multimedia is learner centered if it serves its user. Additional, Mayer has emphasized that if the multimedia is consistent with the way humans learn, then it can be considered learner centered. I submit that this media encourages the thinking process thus it can be considered learner centered.

    Learning Management System
Viddler. (2010). Learning management system: Future report. Retrieved, June 9, 2011, from http://www.viddler.com/explore/froilann/videos/8/

This multimedia artifact discusses the future of learning management system and what should be included to make it learner appropriate or learner centered. As discussed in the video, LMS is a system that helps manage the learning experiences of the learner, making it more meaningful. This piece of artifact will help to engage the cognitive process of the learner, making it learner centered, according to Mayer (2009)

    Haiku LMS
YouTube. (2011). Introduction to Haiku LMS: See Features in Action. Retrieve, June 9, 2011, from http://youtu.be/2BYXBC8WQ5k

This artifact explains the basic structure and features of Haiku Learning Management System. It focus on what the technology has to offer, though some mention is made to what the learner can do with the technology. Mayer (2009) has explicated suggested that technology centered is placing the emphasis on the technology and more specifically, providing the technology because it is available. I therefore believe that this multimedia is technology centered because its focus is on the technology itself.
