    Pre-training:
    1. Word it out: http://worditout.com/
This is a program that attractively arranged words, emphasizing the most important or most frequently used words. This site can be an effective tool for a pre-training activity in that it allows the participants to focus on what is important in the workshop, or the focus of the workshop.
    2. Voice Thread: http://voicethread.com/
This is a group communication/collaborative tool. Groups can communicate by using pictures, text, video, and voice. This is effective since it adheres to Mayer's dual coding; it has a variety of ways for communicating. It is also easy to use.
    Graphic Organizer:
    1. Webspiration Pro: http://www.webspirationpro.com/
This site allows users to create mind maps or webs that can highlight key information. It is a valuable tool and one of the best mind mapping tools because it helps users to collaborate on projects, brainstorming. With this program, there is a variety of ways one can use it, thus catering to different needs

This is also a graphic organizer that helps one to organize his/her thoughts. This is an excellent graphic organizer tool since it allows for collaboration, linking to original sources, adding notes, and placing attachment. In this way, others can work on the organizer and have access to resources. Another feature that I think is valuable is its chatting function. It is a free tool.

    Presentation:
    1. Camtasia: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/
This is a screencasting software that allows one to record the computer screen and edit the recording. This is effective in that it allows for graphics and text, with its caption feature to be included. Additionally, audio files can be recorded and added. It elicits Mayer's signaling principle by highlighting important features during the recording.
    2. WireCast: http://www.telestream.net/wire-cast/overview.htm
This is a webcasting software that allows for the recoding and live streaming via the Internet. Students can access live programs. One feature that may be effective is its recording feature. Not only can this program be used live, but it can be recorded for future use. Editing van also be done. Not too many tools are needed for this program. Thus it may be easy to setup

    Multimedia Artifacts Websites
    What is Learning Platform?
YouTube (2011). What is a learning platform?: (VLE's explained). Retrieved, May 10, 2011, from http://youtu.be/QdP4_7xXXVw

This site/video deals with the introduction and uses of a learning platform. It is cognitive engaging since information has to be processed. This artifact is learner centered in that it works for the learner, making learning more meaningful and fun. Norman, as referenced in Mayer (2009) a multimedia is learner centered if it serves its user. Additional, Mayer has emphasized that if the multimedia is consistent with the way humans learn, then it can be considered learner centered. I submit that this media encourages the thinking process thus it can be considered learner centered.

    Learning Management System
Viddler. (2010). Learning management system: Future report. Retrieved, June 9, 2011, from http://www.viddler.com/explore/froilann/videos/8/

This multimedia artifact discusses the future of learning management system and what should be included to make it learner appropriate or learner centered. As discussed in the video, LMS is a system that helps manage the learning experiences of the learner, making it more meaningful. This piece of artifact will help to engage the cognitive process of the learner, making it learner centered, according to Mayer (2009)

    Haiku LMS
YouTube. (2011). Introduction to Haiku LMS: See Features in Action. Retrieve, June 9, 2011, from http://youtu.be/2BYXBC8WQ5k

This artifact explains the basic structure and features of Haiku Learning Management System. It focus on what the technology has to offer, though some mention is made to what the learner can do with the technology. Mayer (2009) has explicated suggested that technology centered is placing the emphasis on the technology and more specifically, providing the technology because it is available. I therefore believe that this multimedia is technology centered because its focus is on the technology itself.
