Mindmaps and Graphic Organizers with powerful applications and functionalities. - 3 views

  •
The correct website is www.mywebspiration.com. This website has various applications. For purposes of my workshop pre-training, I would lead with a mindmap that would illustrate its organization and concepts, and then hyperlink these to the tutorials in commoncraft.com and other resources. Audio, sharing, and outlining features would also be leveraged.

This website allows you to create custom graphic organizers online, and was created by the same company that makes the popular Inspiration graphic organizer software. It is user friendly, and is better than many programs because it allows you to share your work via links, or invite members to edit your work.
  •
The more I use this website, the more I am impressed with what I can do. It's ability to insert hyperlinks to the bubbles in the organizers encouraged me to use it in the pre-training module of my workshop. In the general case, it can be used in all the modules. The ability to script an outline and have the software generate the organizer is convenient and time-saving.

With the mind map, students create a quick view chart or graph which, along with a transcript which will place the information in a outline for ease of studying. The lesson plan will help the student use content information to extract specific concepts to create a snapshot of how information is connected to a specific idea. This activity can be done independently and shared with classmates for input. In addition, the students will rely on their cognitive ability to develop the mind map.

This site allows you to generate interactive mindmaps that help organize thoughts and ideas into great visual representations. It is easy to create, to meanipulate, and to edit. You are able to collaborate on the map with others and you canmake the map public or share with select audiences.

I recently discovered Spinscape, which is a mindmapping webtool that can be used to create a graphic organizer. It has so many features wrapped into one application. Some of the features that I would find helpful in using Spinscape are the ability to insert links, widgets to post Youtube video, notes, attachments and even tasks for managing a project. Spinscape also offers numerous different views such as the classic bubbles, compact, wiki and farmland styles. The ability to put in tags also makes this a useful tool to help locate information. This definitely is a more visually appealing and more multi-functional than some of the other mindmaps that I have seen, but it is significantly more difficult to navigate and use. It exports the files in multiple formats (HTML, PDF, Word), but not in JPEG. I would really love to use this tool for my presentation, but I will probably not because of the cost. I have been using my 7 day trial membership to explore and it will be expired by the time that I do my workshop.
  •
Previously submitted this website for consideration. The sign-in features include using your Yahoo, Google, and Facebook accounts (most middle schools students have at least 2 of these accounts) as well as the ability to embed widgets(youtube) into the mind map.
  •
Spinscape is a graphic organizer that allows for images, hyperlinks, and collaboration. As a tool used for organizing material, it can help students focus on the important elements of the course. I believe the most important element of this tool is the potential for the effective use of collaboration among students using images and hyperlinks.
  •
This is a collaborative mind mapping resource. It is used to work together to find and share information on any subject. It can be used in real time with users around the world to create collaborative mind maps on any topic. This site provides tutorials for users to learn about the various features that can be utilized within the program. I think this site is the best resource for mind-mapping because of the real time collaborative element and the ability to find a variety of pre-created mind maps.
  •
Spinscape is not only a great tool as a graphic organizer to find, organize, and share information, but it also allows for real time collaboration with peers from around the world. I like this website over other similar sites because you can add text, images, or graphics to expand on the information provided within the graphic organizer.

This site allows users to simply enter a word to find the meaning and related associations. The site provides a visual definition that can be accessed by teachers ad students. The site is free and does not require membership, making it an asset to the public education environment. I selected this site to use as a pre-training activity to have participants enter a word related to collaboration within the classroom and then share with the group the results. The participants will share (collaborate) the similarities and differences and how these relate to the classroom environment currently being reinforced and how this may change after the workshop.

MOD 3 - Whiteboarding - 1 views

I am amazed at the capabilities of collaboration software. The use of Elluminate, in particular, has been demonstrated in LiveChat presentations by a number of my professors. With a network such as proposed in my Smartboard entry, and with all computers equipped with webcams, the breadth of educational technology can be put on display. This is perfect for the purposes of my workshop.

This online bookmarking site is an excellent method to organize and access online resources with ease. As an assignment, participants will be cataloging resources and references to be on hand in the classroom as needed following the workshop. For many years I have utilized this tool, where I can access my bookmarks from any computer. In this day and age of searching online and linking from site to site, often we forget where we started, and what the initial subject of our search was. As individuals are actively searching online, they can simply tag their resources to locate later.

Adding Humor to Training - For Dummies - 2 views

I like this website because it give you examples for how you can present your presentation with some humors. If people are talking during your presentation, you can say, "Feel free to talk among yourselves. ... or "You thought you were in the dark before this session! This activity helps participants get to know each other better. A form of pre-employment screening that verifies that you are a good fit for the leading the presentation. This can be use for essential learning when presenting a multimedia workshop. Biech, E. (2010). Adding humor to training. Inside Dummies.com.
