The Periodic Table of QR Codes. Each QR is basically a link to a video in the PToV from Nottingham Uni's chemistry department. Point and shoot and up pops the appropriate Youtube clip. Simple. Brilliant. Fun. Ubergeek. Chemical.
From simple bar charts through squares of oppositions to infomurals, this interactive periodic table provides examples of many different graphical representations, all arranged thematically.

"In 1660, at age 26, Samuel Pepys began his diary. He stopped a decade later.
From 2003 until 2012 this site featured a daily entry from the diary accompanied by thoughts from readers. The complete diary, and the associated background information, is now an archive of this period of London history."
The reviews from people testing the Nexus 7 for an extended period have been almost unanimously positive. However, while many have rightly compared the Nexus 7 to the Kindle Fire, and stated that Google's effort blows Amazon's out of the water, few would even mention the Nexus 7 in the same breath as the Apple iPad. I disagree with this inherent refusal to put the two on a par.
I believe the Nexus 7 is competition for the iPad and I feel competition to Apple's stranglehold on the tablet market is exactly what's needed at this juncture
"Google - which first opened registration for the class in June - will offer six different 50-minute courses called "Power Searching with Google" over the next two weeks. Classes can be taken at your own leisure within that time period."
"The nature of evolving technology sees the emergence of new trends and behavior among young people and new efforts by government and industry to combat harmful behaviors. FOSI provides periodic information to keep you informed about these issues."
"Google Docs is a fantastic tool for professional and student collaboration. After using Google Docs for an extended period of time, it becomes evident to most Google Docs users that your inbox can become a cluttered, hectic and confusing mess. Magnify that confusion X 100 when you start to have students share their documents with you for evaluation and grading and you can have a colossal mess on your hands.
Based on my experience using Google Docs for the past two years, I have come up with a strategy that I think may help anyone who plans on using Google Docs with students next year. "

"Computers and tablets, as they are currently used, do not encourage the development of complex thought or the ability to concentrate for long periods of time. If we were truly wise, we would cut back on computer use in schools indefinitely.

"According to a recent survey of people in 65 countries, 73.4% of people own a smartphone. Those with smartphones check them an average of 110 times per day, which amounts to every five or six minutes spread out over a twelve hour period. Another study found a slightly higher frequency - 150 times per day. That's a lot of people with instant, constant access to email, social networking, and text messaging. Not all of them will suffer all or most of these negative effects, but the draw of checking your phone "just one more time real quick" is obviously difficult to resist. Heck, most people don't even try to resist it, because staying connected and apprised of everything everywhere can only be a good thing, right?
Let's take a look at some of the possible consequences:"
"Cyber-bullying, update-addiction, sexting - from the perspective of a parent raising a ''digital native'' child, social media seems fraught with dangers. But new research suggests the risks inherent in social media use by younger generations might be overblown. danah boyd, assistant research professor at Harvard and principal researcher for Microsoft Research - like k.d.lang, she prefers the lower case - has completed a large-scale study on how US teenagers use the internet in general, and social media in particular. Her book is called It's Complicated, and is the result of in-depth interviews with scores of teens over an eight-year period."
"Something is wrong on Twitter. And people are noticing. Or, at least, the kind of people we hang around with on Twitter are noticing. And it's maybe not a very important demographic, this very weird and specific kind of user: audience-obsessed, curious, newsy. Twitter's earnings last quarter, after all, were an improvement on the period before, and it added 14 million new users for a total of 255 million. The thing is: Its users are less active than they once were. Twitter says these changes reflect a more streamlined experience, but we have a different theory: Twitter is entering its twilight."
"it's important to make sure that the application's files - your emails records, contacts, and calendars - are periodically backed up to a safe location. Likewise, if you're moving to a new PC, it's a lot easier to re-load a single file than to go through the tedious process of setting up your email accounts again.
Luckily, Outlook makes it simple to manually back up your account and settings, and also to re-import them for easy setup. The guide below applies to Office 2010, Office 2013, and Office 2016."
"Visit Crate and sign on. You'll be presented with a list of crates, normally representing separate areas of files. Select one of the crates. Drag-and-drop all of the files you want to your heart's content. After a short uploading period they'll be stored on the cloud. Mmmmm, legendary cloud. Now, you can share away, either by crate or by individual file. We provide a short URL for ease-of-use. You can also invite someone to add files themselves!"
