AutoMap is a text mining tool that enables the extraction of network data from texts. AutoMap can extract content analytic data (words and frequencies), semantic networks, and meta-networks from unstructured texts developed by CASOS at Carnegie Mellon.  Pre-processors for handling pdf’s and other text formats exist.  Post-processors for linking to gazateers and belief inference also exist. The main functions of AutoMap are to extract, analyze, and compare texts in terms of concepts, themes, sentiment, semantic networks and the meta-networks extracted from the texts. AutoMap exports data in DyNetML and can be used interoperably with *ORA. AutoMap uses parts of speech tagging and proximity analysis to do computer-assisted Network Text Analysis (NTA). NTA encodes the links among words in a text and constructs a network of the linked words. AutoMap subsumes classical Content Analysis by analyzing the existence, frequencies, and covariance of terms and themes. AutoMap has been implemented in Java 1.5.0_07. It can operate in both a front end with gui, and backend mode. Main functionalities of AutoMap are: Extract, analyze and compare mental models of individuals and groups. Reveal structure of social and organizational systems from texts. someone from the audience asked which learning trends or technologies we felt were overrated: Mobile Computing and Learning, Social Networking, Gaming, User Content, and Performer Support. And the two clear "winners" were...Gaming and Social Networking with both receiving over 30% of the vote. The "loser", which in our case was a GOOD thing :), was Performer Support with 9% of the vote. Not only is our industry finally seeing PS as a powerful learning approach, but we are also seeing it as something achievable.

The dream is to create a one stop launching pad of vibrant and supportive communities that will act as a learning portal for informal learning. If you've been around the learning industry long enough you'll remember that this approach was also what killed many efforts around corporate learning portals in the 90's. They were overrated as a one stop landing page for every learning asset imaginable. Although the premise was good, the execution left much to be desired. Another technique that Twine uses is graph analysis. Prior to OverDrive, Mr. Potash was active in the practice of law, served as Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, served as an acting Municipal Judge, and authored technology columns for the American Bar Association Journal. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he earned a B.A. in Journalism from Ohio State and his J.D. from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He is currently licensed to practice law in Ohio and federal courts. He lives in Cleveland with his wife Loree.

With VDI, virtual desktop images are stored in a data center and provided to a client via the network.
