I also want to use it to connect with people who are interested in education and interested in smart inclusion of technology into the classroom.       One approach is to assign watching the video and then a low-stakes assignment--such as a quiz over key points, or having them write a short response to a key question that will be discussed the next class, or to write about what was unclear, new, or useful from the material.

Though many older students in high school and college may groan at their thought, they're usually fun, and great ways to help students feel at ease.

  • Quizlet has become a great teaching tool that I have used for the past few years. I wrote this post a little while ago about easily adding images to Quizlet sets. For younger students, I have found a fun and easy way to use Quizlet flashcards plus a bingo tool for fun and effective review for all topics and subjects. This will even work for middle and high school students.

      You can't do the same thing online that you did in class. It doesn't translate.
  • Covid gave them the chance to see that, hey, our kids actually learn better when they have a little bit of a break.
