Until you are placed in a position where you either witness, hear of, or experience this type of abuse, you are likely to be surprised that it exists. When we think of the elderly entering nursing homes, we assume they are cared for and safe, which is not always the case. The horrible abuse that takes place daily is disturbing and obviously have irreversible effects on those abused, and their loved ones.

An article on the status of women in Islam emphasizing different aspects of life and what obligations a Muslim woman has. Obligations toward her husband as a wife obligations toward the society as well as religious obligations.

I am sorry to say that, this article is full of religious dogma that, in part attempts to justify the historic and continued mistreatment of women.

I stongly believe that everyone should have a place to call home. Sometimes people are hit with hard times but I don't think that they should be mistreated.

This is so powerful. Voice of the Martyrs is an amazing organization. What I find to be so sad, is how in today's world, so many people are up in arms about how they think they have been mistreated or overlooked, yet when Christians are out there suffering horrendous things, they all look the other way and pretend not to notice. I mean, other people's problems are important, but I feel society turns a blind eye towards Christians.

This article talks about how the number of deaths increased has a close correlation in the unfair conditions these prisoners face with little to no health care. Most of the deaths in a prison are related to mental illness or health care. Other countries have laws to protect the prisoners but here in the US they are not treated as they should be.

This was very upsetting. The video briefly descibes Brianna's death and her killers. Following is an article that says Brianna's killers will not serve their full sentence due to good behavior. Her mother who was one of her killers will be released after serving only 13 of her 27 year sentence. Where is our justice for our innocent lives?

I have a hard time reading about the mistreatment of children. This was difficult to watch and read. I think that the biggest issue here though is that murderers are being released without serving a full or fair sentence simply because they know how to behave well in front of the prison guards.

I too have a difficult time hearing about how mothers, especially mothers, can harm their children. I have children of my own and I don't understand how some one can do that to their child. I hate how Brianna's killers can get away with it, and yes I do think they got away with it because they aren't rooting in jail for the rest of their lives just because they played the part and acted innocent while in jail.

This article goes into the horror's of private prisons in Arizona. It discuss the mistreatment of inmates & a lawsuit that is being filed against them. It goes over the difference from for profit prisons & government run prisons.

Private prisons contribute to an industry based on incarcerating people and profit on recidivism and lack of rehabilitation programs.

I agree that there is a lot wrong with the private prisons and the way they are ran. I found this to be very insightful.
