Global Warming is real - 0 views

  •
As much as we are busy and neglect our environment, the earth's temperature is still increasing at a very high rate. Global warming is real. We read a lot of articles and hear a lot of scientist saying how terrible the earth's atmosphere is right now but there is one thing I think we could do is that stop using plastic bags.

Is climate change real, and is the world actually getting warmer? - 2 views

  •
This article talks about the facts and myths in relation to global warming. It is proven that the earth is steadily getting hotter. It also talks about how some think we as humans are causing Our own demise and heading for the end and how some think there may eventually be a small group of survivors

Arrhenius's theory being proven today is a very scary thing. It's inevitable that we will reach 1.5c tons, but how do we change our ways so drastically to stop is from reaching 2c tons? I propose we become aware of how much we consume and how what we consume is slowly taking its toll on our atmosphere.

Great site and lots of good information on a huge topic in the political arena these days.

Being a federal agency, it shocks me that many do not believe in climate change despite being presented with facts by NASA, itself. I like that the evidence portion of this site provides visuals to better understand and acknowledge the reality of climate change.
  •
The graphics in this article made it interesting and informative. The statistics on the increase in carbon dioxide levels since 1950 is astonishing. Discussions on global warming causes and remediation are necessary.
  •
In this article, the author explains the causes, effects and solutions to climate change in an interactive way. The website takes you to different diagrams so that you get a better understanding of the evidence.

I am so desperate and angry that I wish Mother Nature did something to wake those people up. Maybe a massive earthquake or tsunami will show them how bad of the current state our planet is in.

How do you explain the duality of scientific evidence logically pertaining to the results of meta studies both proving and disproving climate change effects and signs?
  •
dal2124240, you don't when it pertains to our newly elected administration.
  •
Again I will ask how do you personally explain the duality of scientific evidence? The last time I check the currently elected administration is not taking English 102 or 101, sharing fact based articles or an attempt there unto pertaining. How do you personally defend your argument against the duality of scientific research; That in the last 30 years the atmosphere over the Antarctic has repaired itself over 150,000,000 square miles despite the increase of carbon emissions?

http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/. Here you go Dalton. Now, may I ask where you got your "evidence based fact" from, and do you have anymore from any reputable sources?

How is sea levels rising a social injustice?
  •
Sea levels itself is not a social injustice, but climate change is. Sea levels are a result of climate change. This is a informative article on how are earth is changing as a result of climate change.
  •
Not sea level, but how it connects to the climate change is a social justice issue.

It honestly baffles me that people do not believe in climate change and global warming. We have tons of SCIENTISTS who work day in and day out to collect this type of data and are clearly the experts yet people like Trump want to say it's a "Chinese Hoax".. it makes absolutely no sense!!
  •
Climate change is an important issue that has an impact far outside the present. I thought the author made an interesting point at the beginning of his article, when he talked about how after 9-11 we found terror but when it comes to climate change people look the other way.
  •
Hurricane Harvey is one of the many signs that climate change is a threat to our planet. The article states that "last year was the third year in a row to set a record for highest global average surface temperature " and since then other studies and reports have only further proven these dacts.

The Government is Scary - 0 views

  •
Whether it's "terrorists", global warming, or a new virus, the government and media usually blow things way out of proportion. Most of the time it stirs the public into a frenzy and we end up spending money in some way. Sometimes the cash goes to groups that help end hunger in Africa and other times it's a huge hospital bill because we weren't sure if it was the bird flu or the swine flu (turned out to be a cold).

Climate Change and Mental Health Connections - 2 views

  •
Discussions about climate change and global warming occur on a regular basis these days, as it should. This article addresses the toll that climate change has on our mental health. This article has a lot of interesting information in it, and the points made in the illustration are very impactful.
  •
As our society continues to evolve, so does our perception of mental health. I'm glad to see that external factors such as these are getting attention as to how they may cause distress on our society's mental health.
  •
It's interesting because I have never really connected climate change and mental health. It makes sense when you think about it, how most people connect raining with depression and sunshine with happiness. A lot of factors go into maintaining mental health and our environment is definitely one of them.
