While the article seems to be getting its statistics from credible sources like the CDC, its comments on how it can help people in Arizona with Drug abuse should be taken with a grain of salt because of its relation with a company bound to look for customers. Some of those in the pro gun control movement want to see certain guns taken off the shelves, while others believe that they should be outlawed entirely. The rising suicide rates across the globe are disturbing. Over the past 45 years, the suicide rates have risen by 60%, they have nearly doubled, and are getting worse every year. As of 2016, a person commits suicide every 40 seconds, and the CDC believes that that number will rise to one every 20 seconds by 2020, a disturbing figure. The phenomenon has had little explanation as to cause, however i believe it is the fall in the number of people of faith, or religion. Over the past 50 years, more and more people have lost faith, and crime rates, and suicide rates have skyrocketed. But that is just a theory.

We all are aware and know how scary suicide can be but it is heartbreaking to know that every year the growing rate is rising. We see on the news and on social media that teens are committing suicide but we need to realize that it is not just teens, its all people. The best thing we can do for those who have thought of committing suicide is to be there and listen to them when help is needed.

It's sad to hear about how often suicide happens. I wasn't aware of how bad it actually was. There are many different reasons people decide to take their life away. All we can really do is to try to be there for anyone who needs help and show people that you care. Sometimes it can be from the people we least expect.

Bullying can happen in the schools, but it also happens online. A child could be doing homework online ad actually be bullied by social media like Facebook. Bullying is not targeted to a single group of people. At any given time, anyone can be the subject of a bully. Most kids do not report it. It can happen at any age for any reason.

I found this thread to be informative. It's sad that I am not surprised by how high the rates of bullying are. It is a truly horrible issue that won't be stopped until parents step in and teach their children how to treat others. I also feel that it's the responsibility of witnesses and school staff to report any bullying and make sure it is resolved, which seems to not happen very often.

This day and age women are redefining themselves in the workplace and world, but one set back that is always occurring is the act of rape. Colleges, women and children, are taught from a young age about rape and the causes. It is unfortunate these statistics are accurate and that women are more often to blame themselves and feel as if they have no where to go to seek help.
