Pro Gun Control Arguments vs Anti Gun Control Arguments - 0 views

  •
A discussion and analysis of pro gun control arguments vs anti gun control arguments, and a call for reforms to both protect gun rights and limit gun crimes. As an advocate for reasonable gun laws that both protect my rights as well as supporting some gun control, it is difficult to find an article that fits me in this debate, but this has done it. Very good, and logical take on the whole debate

NRA Winning the Influence Battle Over Gun Control - 0 views

  •
The pro gun control voice could certainly gain influence if they establish a more united voice. The pro-gun rights voice is rapidly gaining influence while the pro-gun control voice has tapered in recent weeks. The pro-gun control voice is split between Obama and several gun control advocacy groups which dilutes the message.

Pro Gun Control - 0 views

DogPile Original Much like those on the opposite side of the issue, the pro gun control crowd feels an enormous amount of passion towards their cause. They are also an incredibly diverse group. Some of those in the pro gun control movement want to see certain guns taken off the shelves, while others believe that they should be outlawed entirely. There are a number of gun control statistics that these individuals tout to help get their point across. One set of statistics that the pro gun control crowd likes to discuss is the increase in school shootings over the past two decades. Statistics like these are not exactly shocking to people these days, especially with all of the coverage that the mainstream media gives to them when they occur. Paraphrase Those who are pro gun control are rather diverse and feel just as strong about gun regulations as those opposing them. This group consist of people that feel anywhere from no guns being allowed, to only certain guns being allowed. Gun control statistics are vast in favor of gun control. For example, school shootings in the past twenty years. Although, these statistics are losing effect on the crowd as they are being over exposed on the media. .

I love the fact that Arizona is a right to carry state. I think the biggest thing that people need to think about is this.. Most people that commit crimes with guns did not go to their local Wal-mart and buy a gun and go kill someone. Most people that use guns for violence came across those guns illegally. Whether they were stolen or bought from an illegal arms seller, they were obtained illegally. These are the guns that need to be controlled, not the ones that were legally obtained.

Gun control limits personal freedoms - 0 views

This article really supposrts how it's not the guns that kill people, it's the people that kill people. It doesn't support more gun laws. It also supports the point of how guns aren't the problem.

Guns dont kill people, people kill people. The point is to try to keep guns out of the hands of deranged people.

Gun Control - Pros & Cons - 1 views

I agree this is a very controversial topic. In my opinion, it's truly hard to pick a side due to the fact that I understand both perspectives. Regardless, it's an issue that I hope gets resolved, eventually.
  •
I don't like the idea that "gun ownership deters crime." Criminals are criminals, because they don't consider the consequences of their actions. They don't evaluate if the person has a weapon, a child, or a dog. Gun ownership from my perspective only increases the likelyhood that one of those weapons is going to fire.
  •
Gun control is a difficult topic to discuss. More gun control laws will not end shootings. On both sides of the spectrum, there are pros and cons to more or less gun control laws.

On Gun Control and the Great American Debate Over Individualism - 0 views

  •
This article says how gun control got loose over the last 2 decades and crime rates have gone down. Therefore, more control wouldn't really help bring down crime. It says how the argument is going no where fast and that no changes will end up being made.

Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, and New York passed restrictive laws concerning thirty-round magazines and various weapons based on characteristics - like pistol grips and flash hiders - that have nothing to do with a gun's lethality. The State Department immediately demanded that he take the code down, which he did, although once something is on the Internet it is beyond anybody's control - precisely Wilson's point - and the plastic gun has already been photographed in Europe, well beyond the State Department's control.

A Right to Bear Arms Opinion - 0 views

  •
The controversy with the right to bear arms starts with the goverment. Only a goverment who is affraid of its citizens trys to control them. Gun control is not about the guns, its about taking control. When you remove the right to bear arms, we can not defend ourselves from senseless crimes.

Gun Laws - 0 views

Everyone should have a right to protect themselves. Making guns illegal wont solve the issue. Either way, criminals will still find a way to get a hold of them.
  •
This link agrees with the right to bear arms. They support equal rights for gun owners. The purpose of this link is to prove that not everyone will be effected by making guns illegal. The law abiding citizens become defenseless and the criminals will take as they please knowing the people are pretty much defenseless.
