Pro Gun Control Arguments vs Anti Gun Control Arguments - 0 views

  •
A discussion and analysis of pro gun control arguments vs anti gun control arguments, and a call for reforms to both protect gun rights and limit gun crimes. As an advocate for reasonable gun laws that both protect my rights as well as supporting some gun control, it is difficult to find an article that fits me in this debate, but this has done it. Very good, and logical take on the whole debate

Sorting Out Obama's Gun Proposal - 0 views

  •
The article covers the announcement of Obama's gun debate in 2016. It talks about the many concerns of gun restrictions as well as President Obamas proposal on these issues and more.
  •
I love the fact that Arizona is a right to carry state. I think the biggest thing that people need to think about is this.. Most people that commit crimes with guns did not go to their local Wal-mart and buy a gun and go kill someone. Most people that use guns for violence came across those guns illegally. Whether they were stolen or bought from an illegal arms seller, they were obtained illegally. These are the guns that need to be controlled, not the ones that were legally obtained.

NRA Winning the Influence Battle Over Gun Control - 0 views

  •
The pro gun control voice could certainly gain influence if they establish a more united voice. The pro-gun rights voice is rapidly gaining influence while the pro-gun control voice has tapered in recent weeks. The pro-gun control voice is split between Obama and several gun control advocacy groups which dilutes the message.

Gun Laws - 0 views

Everyone should have a right to protect themselves. Making guns illegal wont solve the issue. Either way, criminals will still find a way to get a hold of them.
  •
This link agrees with the right to bear arms. They support equal rights for gun owners. The purpose of this link is to prove that not everyone will be effected by making guns illegal. The law abiding citizens become defenseless and the criminals will take as they please knowing the people are pretty much defenseless.

4 gun-related incidents at AZ high schools prompt call for metal - Arizona's Family - 1 views

  •
This article talks about four different high school shootings that happen in Arizona. Students are bringing guns to school and are found inside their vehicle. Rumors on social media have been reported to the police thta a student was suspected to bring a gun to school.
  •
Even coming from somebody who carries, I think schools are right to punish a student for having a gun in their car. One because its not allowed, and two because its not allowed! Keep it at home.
  •
I completely agree with students being punished for having guns in cars at school. If it is against the rules then there should be consequences. In my opinion, it is the same has taking a gun to a sporting event or in a hospital, if it is it allowed it is simply not allowed.

A Right to Bear Arms Opinion - 0 views

  •
The controversy with the right to bear arms starts with the goverment. Only a goverment who is affraid of its citizens trys to control them. Gun control is not about the guns, its about taking control. When you remove the right to bear arms, we can not defend ourselves from senseless crimes.

FBI: Nearly 5X More Murders Committed With Knives Than Assault Rifles ยป Alex ... - 0 views

  •
Over the past 8 years, there have been obvious assaults at United States citizens second amendment right to bear arms. Guns, especially assault rifles, have received an awful lot of scrutiny for people shooting one another, however in reality shootings with assault rifles account for only 2% of homicides in the United States. Meanwhile the rifles themselves are being blamed for the unstable people wielding them. Meanwhile knives account for nearly 14% of homicides, however no one is attempting to ban knives, as it is general knowledge that they are tools, just like guns. But the media is making every attempt to make guns the villains, not the wielders.
  •
This subject has been plaguing our country for years now, and it's proven that most violent crimes don't happen with guns. Especially assault rifles, people aren't just carting around carrying around rifles everywhere committing crimes. They use what's small and readily available. Such as, knives, bats, handguns, or even just using their fist to get what they want.

Gun Control - Pros & Cons - 1 views

  •
This article provides the reader with a list if pros and cons to imitating a gun control law. It helps in providing the reader with some basic knowledge on a controversial topic.

I agree this is a very controversial topic. In my opinion, it's truly hard to pick a side due to the fact that I understand both perspectives. Regardless, it's an issue that I hope gets resolved, eventually.
  •
I don't like the idea that "gun ownership deters crime." Criminals are criminals, because they don't consider the consequences of their actions. They don't evaluate if the person has a weapon, a child, or a dog. Gun ownership from my perspective only increases the likelyhood that one of those weapons is going to fire.
  •
Gun control is a difficult topic to discuss. More gun control laws will not end shootings. On both sides of the spectrum, there are pros and cons to more or less gun control laws.

  •
This article talks about the right to bear arms. The main thing it focuses on is the difference between self defense and using a gun in a harmful manner.
  •
The personal freedom of the second amendment or the right to bear arms is a touchy subject in today's new world. From either stand point the right to bear arms is a natural right of self-defense. Reading this article gives reasoning to why the freedom to own and use guns are important to society.

Gun control is a very controversial on going topic. Guns save many lives when in the right hands. There should be deeper background checks and physiological tests. Americans do have a right to bear arms.
  •
I completely agree, guns save so many lives if in the right hands. There should be rules and precautions, but Americans should always have the right to bear arms.

In 2009, at the behest of the Obama administration, the United States joined 152 other countries in endorsing a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty Resolution. The resolution establishes an international conference to be held next year, at which leaders from countries around the world-many of which have deplorable human rights records-will draw up an international treaty designed to severely restrict or even outright ban your right to sell, purchase, carry or own a firearm. Just two years ago, NRA fought a push to consider a 1997 Organization of American States gun control treaty in the Senate.
