  • D-roms and exam papers are handed out together. This is the Danish language exam. One of the teachers stands in front of the class and explains the rules. She tells the candidates they can use the internet to answer any of the four questions. They can access any site they like, even Facebook, but they cannot message each other or email anyone outside the classroom

Dubbed the "Eleanor Rigby generation", those aged 18-34 (84% of whom use the internet regularly) are the most likely to be lonely, according to the report. And 31% admitted that they spent too much time online rather than face to face.

    Förbjud inte eleverna att vara på internet. Hjälp dem istället att använda informationen på nätet för att skapa djupare kunskap. Det som måste till är en pedagogisk grundsyn och metoder som hjälper eleverna att gå på djupet för att omvandla informationsflödet till aktiv kunskap.

  • Skolens mål må være å oppmuntre elevene til å være kritiske og til å stille spørsmål ved informasjon de finner på Internett.
  • Kildekritikk handler om å vurdere kvaliteten på den informasjonen man innhenter i forhold til de spørsmål man ønsker å besvare. Henry Jenkins poengterer at «determining the truth value of information has become increasingly difficult in an age of increasing diversity and ease of access to information.» (Jenkins, 2007).

  • Dersom man får skrive om emner som engasjerer, kan motivasjonen overskygge lysten til å kopiere. Videre må elevene faktisk lære hva som er lov og ikke lov og hvordan man lager kildehenvisninger (Rask, 2002).  
  • Å få til dette krever en systematisk oppbygging av en kildekritisk kultur på tvers av lærerkollegier og alderstrinn i skolen som organisasjon.  Selv om man gjennom et slikt perspektiv vektlegger elevenes samarbeidspraksis i større grad enn mer tradisjonelle former for undervisning, betyr dette ikke at lærerens rolle mister betydning i læringsarbeidet.

    Many of the sites listed here were not available when we did our last list; although longevity is a mark of pride online, it is difficult for companies set up in the 1990s to reinvent themselves quickly enough to take advantage of new technologies. Although of course rapid change brings casualties too: it's possible that with all the economic turbulence going on that some of the sites here won't be around in a year from now, or that their now free services will have become paid-for. That doesn't diminish their usefulness, though; it just underlines their determination to survive.
