This is why the planes' condition should be checked, and double checked before taking off.
  •
That must have been really bad
  •
This is why they need to be checking everything anymore. You never now what people do to planes, and i feel sorry for every body that family member's got hurt
  •
That is so sad u just never know what is going to happen. You jut have to be careful and be safe and look out for things.
  •
this is not so much someone elses fault as it was mechanic failure. planes are safe but things do happen
  •
Airports should take more time to check their planes to make sure there is nothing wrong with them.
  •
A plain should be check more carefully before it takes off.

I believe that this man should be charged with homicide for stabbing this man to death.

School Board Member Arrested - 4 views

So, what do you think...  should this person remain a member of the School Board?

Mid valley school board member arrested for possession of cocaine.
  •
Lackawanna County, Eric Kovaleski, arrested for possession of cocaine after he was stopped for running a red light in Scraton.
  •
I think he should be fired.
  •
No i do not think that the superintendent should still remain a member. He broke a law and in school they tell that drugs are bad and you shouldn't do them, but he does them and got caught. If he stays a member the kids might get the idea that drugs are okay to do.
  •
No I do not think that he should be because thats harming the students and if you do that then there just has to be something wrong with that person. Get that person out of there fire him.
  •
Like Ryan said he should be fired, he broke the law and thats the end of the line for him it would'nt be right for him to stay on the school board and be making decisions for students.
  •
I don't think that it's okay that he's still a member of the school board. He's setting a bad example for not only the students, but the community.
  •
No, he should definitely not be. It's cocaine. It's a serious drug.
  •
I do not think he should be fired. Although cocaine is a harder drug then most others, the man never had any or caused any problems since he has been part of the school board. I think it's in his best interest to resign only because he has made a name for himself already and it will be hard to prove to kids in his school that he's drug free.
  •
I think that this guy should be fired. He is suppose to be a role model to the students and is on drugs? This is totally unacceptable. If I had a kid that went to that school I would be very afraid. Drugs are nothing to play with at the day in age and if your taking them you should not be around kids.
  •
I think he should have been fired also because no one should be doing drugs. Since he worked for a school he should of definetly been against it but he wasnt. If you want to do drugs it is your own fault for risking your job.
  •
He should not be aloud around the school and he should be kicked of the school borad for selling drugs....we need to get drugsd of the streets and now adults are giveing them to kids to use or even sell . that is not right

  •
A South Korean man was found crucified, it was a reconstruction of the crucifixion of Jesus, with the victim wearing a crown of thorns and dressed only in his underwear. He put nails into the cross first, then drilled holes in his hands and hung himself on the cross, reports said. Police found nails, a hammer, an electric drill and pieces of wood near the body, as well as instructions on how to build a cross, and a note from the victim, reports said. The victim's family confirmed the handwriting was his. The body was found about 10 days after Good Friday, the day Christians believe Jesus was crucified.

Age to buy cigarettes to get raised to 21 - 3 views

shared by brett V. on 19 Apr 11 - No Cached
  •
According to the University of Michigan's annual survey of the Nation's adolescents, in 2006, about one- fifth of U.S. seniors smoked monthly, down from more than one-third who did so in 1996. Signs in the most recent surveys indicate that smoking among younger teenagers might be on the rise. The cost of cigarettes, usually a strong predictor of a decline in teen smoking, continues to rise. Yet more than 40% of high school students today have tried smoking before they graduated. The only thing left to do is to raise the legal purchasing age to 21.
  • ...1 more comment...
  •
I don`t think it should be raised. Teens are still going to smoke.
  •
Well you know today 12 year old children can simply get cigarettes with the slightest ease. So I really don't think its such a big deal, but if I was the Cigarette company I sure would be. Also Next where going to have to be 30 to drink and 26 as an official adult. FREEEEEEDOOOOMMMMM!!!!! lol
  •
I think the price should be doubled, maybe even tripled. There are no benefits to smoking at all. Just a way for tough guys to waste money maybe. If the prices are raised, people will still buy them I know. But that just goes to show you how addicting they are. Better yet, the age should be changed to 21. Change both of those variables and you'll see a positive change in our citizens, thats my opinion though.

Mount Carmel Township approves ban on fake pot - 3 views

  •
Mount Carmel Township is trying to ban selling, delivering, or buying synthetic drugs. They will be the first township with this ban but they want to see it happen. If it goes info effect, it will start April 20. After this date punishment by law will be put into place.
  • ...2 more comments...
  •
Finally this area shows some kind of common sense, we need to get these "drugs" off the street including the people doing them.
  •
This is a ban that is much needed. So many people are abusing things like this and it really needs to stop. People who continue to abuse this should be punished to the full extent.
  •
It is about time somebody does something about this ridiculous stuff that people are consuming into there body. People could really make a drug out of anything ya know what i mean?
  •
Mount Carmel Township will be the first township with an ordinance banning synthetic marijuana. But what does this matter? No matter what they ban, there's always going to be the nest new thing out. People will keep finding ways to get around the bans, and the new laws. Its essentially pointless for all this to be happening. even though i do agree that the "fake pot" is a bad idea

Gas prices may have PEAKED - 2 views

shared by brett V. on 26 Apr 11 - No Cached

Gas prices jumped more than 11 cents over the past two weeks. The pace of higher pump prices has slowed and they may have peaked. The average gallon is just 23 cents off the all-time high of $4.1. They say the weakening of demand and slower rate of rise may keep it from hitting the all time average.
  •
Gas prices have been on the rise for a while now. Surveys say the average cost of a gallon of gas in the United States two weeks ago was $3.76 but now it rose to $3.88. The prices in the past two weeks rose more than 11 cents. Publisher Trilby Lundberg says gas prices may be at their peak right now.
  •
Wow if they keep going up like this its crazy noones going to have money to do anything anymore

Chrysler's $7.6 billion I.O.U. paid off - 2 views

  •
Chrysler has paid off $7.6 billion to U.S and Canadian government. They repaid the loans 6 years ahead of schedule. also because of the loans they were able to hire 6000 workers
  •
This is great especially with the economy the way it is. Other companies should follow the ways of Chrysler so we can get our economy back on track.
  •
That is great and it may show signs that our country is slowly recovering from the recession we are in, maybe this will give people motivation to start looking for jobs again.

This was just wrong even though they are in prison you still should not use them as human test subjects. They have a right to the money they are suing for.

3 year old missing after bad weather - 2 views

  •
Ryan Hamil went missing Tuesday after ferocious weather. He was with his mother and siblings when the storm hit. The mother has broken bones bruises and cuts and the father was away but returned. They were last searching a 16-mile stretch. They have taken refuge in a bathtub. Its one of the worst since 1953 and their hearts go out.
  •
The storm must have been very strong to take a child away from his mother. Hopefully they keep searching until they find the child. I've seen pictures of the wreckage and it will be a struggle but we can hope everything will be all right.

  •
this is not good because $40 billion is alot of money and that means alot of jobs will be cut.
  •
Yes kerner, its the single biggest cut ever made to the federal budget in one year.
  •
If the budget gets cut is 40 billion alot of people will lose there Jobs
  •
If and when this happens our country will be in an outrage
  •
Well then thats good at least they are getting somewhere with it all and reaching an agreement
  •
$40 Billion is a lot of money to just take away. They should atleast take it away in increments so people can adjust to it easier.
  •
I don't get why they are cutting budgets from the school's all around the world. I think that is so silly because people put us though school to learn and now there thanking them from us. So i guess they what us to be stupid and not get good jobs. A lot of people will lose jobs if this happens.

Missing girl - 2 views

I believe this is the parents' fault, as this girl met the 19 year old male over a social networking site. Parents should monitor a young child's use of social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace.
  •
what kid of person would take a child from there parents . they have to be mental inpassated or something. there are some sick people out there... i hope they find the 16 year old girl soon , and that man better go to jail for life . and parent now a day's don't care want there kids do . they only care in times like this when there kid goes missing
  •
Blame the parents i would never let my 16 year old daughter date or see a 19 year old man.
  •
I blame it on the parents also. They should ask the children where they are going before they leave instead of leaving the house without them telling them where they are going. The parents should have been more strict.
  •
I do not think it was completely the parent's fault. Ashley could have been sneaky about talking to him. Now, the guy she is with will probably get in trouble for her going with him.
  •
I think parents should keep track of their children more and this wont happend.
  •
Nice job on looking at both sides, here, gang!

Baby calls 911 - 1 views

  •
A 10 year old from Connecticut called 911 after he found out that his babysitter was having difficulty breathing.
  •
I would like to babysit this child. I would feel safer than if I was just with a stranger. This child's parents also taught him a great thing. This kid can save someone else's life one day.
  •
I actually saw this story on the news and they played the recording of the 911 call. The young boy was truly amazing! Very calm on the phone and followed all of the instructions of the 911 dispatcher. It was touching, for certain.
