Almost 3% of people in the Middle East are enslaved. Typically the people are trapped by falling for a "work trap." They leave their homes and families because they are promised employment. Upon arriving to work, the employers take everything from them and enslave them.

Residents of the gaza strip are tired of hamas occupation and their war crimes

With images of violence and torture coming out of Syria daily, a U.N. panel on stated what many people consider obvious: ISIS has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, and leaders of the militant group should be held accountable by organizations such as the International Criminal Court.

The issues surrounding the brotherhood and the fear surrounding the idea that all of Egypt would be expected to become part of the brotherhood are discussed on this page. The original foundation of the brotherhood was based on the idea of "liberating them from foreign imperialism" as well as forming "unification" as a nation. Issues presented with the brotherhood include: a "poor economic stability or growth, increased crime, and assaults on women."

The Muslim Brotherhood is the oldest and largest opposition group group in Egypt. It's members control many of the country's professional organizations.

This article gives background information regarding who and what the Muslim Brotherhood is. It provides historical significance of the group as well as give suggestions as to why there is interest in learning about the group and their ideals.

Last week, privately owned newspaper Al-Watan reported that the " Revolutionary Punishment " movement posted a warning on its website urging Egyptian judges to forgo their involvement in cases against Brotherhood members or leaders to save themselves and their families. The bill would give judges, for the first time, "the power to deliver deterring sentences for internet crimes such as cyberterrorism.

In this Times of Israel article, a statement made by South Africa's ruling party, the ANC, is examined. Made in protest to a planned meeting of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, the ANC's statement accused Israel of being a state founded in apartheid. More dramatically, the article references a quote made by the ANC where they liken Israel's most recent attack on Gaza to the Nazis.

Hamas and Palestine have further violated the basic human rights of their own people. Hamas's war crimes against the Palestinians are numerous.

This article compares human trafficking to slavery and gives a stance not typical to my other articles. The author supports the notion of "guest workers" and says if it were known as slavery, then the host country and the respective home country would both be an accomplice to the crime. 

The actual number of human trafficking victims is unable to be determined. This is because there is not an official database on human trafficking. It is hard for some police officials to positively identify trafficking cases. In some cases many people do not even recognize they are victims of the crime.

More than 250,000 Syrians have lost their lives in four-and-a-half years of armed conflict, which began with anti-government protests before escalating into a full-scale civil war. More than 11 million others have been forced from their homes as forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule battle each other - as well as jihadist militants from so-called Islamic State.

This article was written during International Women's day and hightlights what women face under repressive regime. "At the hands of the coup regime in Egypt, women suffer horrific crimes including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrest, violent rape, displacement, severe torture (often leading to permanent disability), sham military trials, unjust death sentences, enforced disappearances, brutal degrading treatment of political prisoners' wives and daughters while visiting relatives in the military junta's detention centers."

This short article paints a picture of the violent crimes against women that are taken place at Al-Azhar University. Aisha Al-Shatar who is the daughter of the Muslim Brotherhood's vice-chairman, has publicly called upon the media to display the lynching of female students.
