In this article, the author reflects on some of the challenges he faced while trying to introduce technology into his classroom. He found that he and the students were becoming frustrated and disengaged during the process and technology ended up hindering the learning process. That all ended when the teacher found Google Apps.

The author of this article discusses ways that she has used twitter in her own classroom. Twitter has allowed her students to interact with authors and she discusses how this has been of benefit to her students. Lastly, the article discusses how to get permission to use twitter in your classroom if the website is banned.

This was really good article. I loved the authors response to creating a proposal for online safety and how the technology ties to the curriculum.

This is an article/website about all the types of assistive technology that can be integrated into the special education classroom. As well as explaining the benefits of having this technology with certain types of disabilities. It also includes a blog like section for teachers to comment on how certain technology does or does not work in their own classrooms.

I'm glad this article talked about assistive technology for students with disabilities and students who need challenged.

The Flipped Classroom (FC), is the teaching model that employs asynchronous video lectures, reading assignments, practice problems and other digital technology based resources outside the classroom and interactive, group based problem solving activities in the classroom. This article discusses the benefits of FC and provides a case study and guidance and recommendations for implementing this model in your class. They also provide multiple technological resources that you can use in your FC classrooms. Very interesting approach compared to that of the traditional classroom.

This article is about how more males are typically enrolling to be in technology courses in middle and high schools in the US then are females. It mentions how keeping and bringing in female students to take educational technology courses will require major changes in instructional practice and course content. A study in this article also brought about how males and females have different interests when it comes to the use of technology.

Although the article is somewhat dated. I do believe some of the research is still true.

This article is explaining how the author believes that the internet is now the most powerful tool in the classroom today. The author argues that teachers must give up some of their power in the classroom and allow students to take more control of their own education through the opportunities the internet offers. She does make the point that teachers will still have a pivotal role in the classroom even with all the new technology.

This article talks about how iPads and other tablets are a learning tool for students with disabilities, not just for novelty. Students who have trouble communicating verbally can use apps to talk to peers, teachers and parents. It allows them to be more like their peers and can spark new friendships if used in the right way. It can be used in all classes, including Math and Science, allowing students to be more independent than they have ever been.

This article outlines the benefits of using technology in the classroom. Most importantly, the article mentions that technology is essential to preparing students for successful futures. While technology cannot totally replace traditional learning methods, a classroom should be a blend of traditional and technological learning.

It discusses how blogging for elementary age students works, gives examples of what some kids are blogging about, some software programs and tools to consider, and safety ideas for starting your own blog. This article is about the ten major trends in education--and a lot of them deal with technology. They are talking about the implementation of connected mobile devices, videos, the discussion of the digital footprint, and the closing of the gender gap with the rise of gaming. This is a good article to consult for multiple reasons. It not only addresses technology but the new trends that are becoming apparent as a result of it. Multiple questions arise as a result of reading this article. 1) Is the use of technology making the educational poverty gap even greater? 2) How can we adjust to technology and implementing it into a classroom in a district where the availability of tech is limited? 3) How can we encourage young students to be more aware of their digital footprint both in and outside of class? These trends will have an impact on you as a teacher, be informed...be a learner first. Questions: 1) How will these trends affect or change the physical make-up of your classroom setting? 2) If you compare how your students use social media with the trend of teaching students how to listen, what challenges do you anticipate? 3) What are your thoughts regarding the trend "the evolving of the teacher-student relationship"?

This is a blog written by a middle school teacher explaining classroom management. It also gives information on how to have effective classroom management within your classroom. It also has a comment section for teachers to continue to debrief on what did or didn't work in their own classrooms. 1. What do you think that is the most important to remember when dealing with middle school students? 2. What do you think the author meant by "pushing the limits"? 3. How would you deal with unruly students in your own classroom?

This article reviews the shift in learning styles. It describes the development of culture labs that foster learning for the sake of growing and developing. The idea is being utilized in college classrooms and needs to filter into earlier learning environments in order to accelerate the learning process and develop a stronger culture of learners.

Good advice for selecting games depending on your access to technology and as an option for differentiation.

Technology such as ipads open new channels for sharing art. Programs allow students to try different methods and see for themselves (at their own speed) step by step instructions. It also allows the art teacher to mix traditional and new methods of instructions.

I wrote down some of these apps to share with the art teacher in my building. This is a great example of a teacher finding ways to use technology and acquire it for her classroom.

This article outlines techniques and applications to use social media in businesses and schools. Although there is still a negative reaction to using Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites, this article offers appropriate uses for these in the classroom. It also outlines sources for educators and administration to improve their learning and development as well.

This article discusses the dangers of introducing technology to young children. The author looks at schools that are starting the use of technology in kindergarten. I also feel this is too young. There needs to be a personal connection made among students and the teacher. A screen doesn't provide this learning and interaction.

This article discusses" blended learning." This is where they move from a one-size-fits all teaching to a personalized form of teaching. The capability for children to use technology and have someone also physically teaching will enhance the learning of a child.
