Tinkering with Old Technology - The Learner's Way - 10 views

  •
As technology evolves and its inner workings increasingly disappear from view, replaced with solid-state parts hidden by glass, aluminium and plastic, our understanding of what makes the world operate is similarly impeded. When machinery from just a few decades ago is viewed a world of moving parts, linkages, cogs and levers is revealed. These mechanical objects contain an inherent beauty and inspire curiosity in ways that modern devices with their pristine surfaces and simplified design language do not. Opportunities to explore devices from the past open our eyes and lead us to new questions of how our devices function, how machines do the jobs we need them to do and how engineers solve problems.

How many Toms does your ELGG need? | Brightcookie.com Educational Technologies - 6 views

  •
Your ELGG (an open source community platform) users might not be overly concerned about their friend count, but they very often might need to make a connection with your organisation right off the bat if they have questions about how to use the site or need to understand what having a friend or contact entails so they have the confidence to start engaging with other users. If you currently use or are considering implementing ELGG, you may want to think about starting your members off with at least one default friend.

What meal would your team be? - The Learner's Way - 2 views

  •
What makes a team truly great? What are the qualities which allow some teams to perform at a high level while others seem trapped? One approach to this question is to consider a team as though they were a meal. Thinking metaphorically, we ask what are the ingredients that make a great team and how might we combine them to produce the best results?

How might we develop self-regulated learners? - The Learner's Way - 3 views

  •
A common question is how do we facilitate the development of independent, self-regulating learners. With an increased focus on the development of dispositional models for learning where the skills and mindset of the learner are crucial, how do we ensure that our learners move from requiring external regulation to a model of internal regulation?

Buy SiteJabber Reviews - 100% Non-Drop,Safe, Permanent, Cheap ... - 0 views

Buy 5 Star SiteJabber Reviews SiteJabber is a review site for local businesses. It allows customers to leave reviews about their experiences with local businesses, and it has an overall rating system similar to Yelp or TripAdvisor. SiteJabber has a 5 star rating system, which means that if you give one star to your service provider, they will take away your ability to leave them any more stars in the future. For example: If you give one star because they didn't fix your car after you paid them $300 dollars for repairs - then next time when you need work done again (and maybe not this time), they won't be able to rate them as highly because there's no incentive for them anymore! Importance of Positive Sitejabber Reviews The Importance of Positive Sitejabber Reviews Sitejabber reviews are important for your business. They help you improve your online reputation and attract more customers, but they also can be an important marketing tool to get traffic to your website or increase sales. The significance of Sitejabber reviews Sitejabber reviews are important for your business. You might think that they're just a nice thing to have, but they can actually make a big difference in the success of your online business. If people see positive reviews on Google or Yahoo! Search Engine and then decide to click through to your website, it will increase sales. You should also consider how Sitejabber reviews affect your reputation as an expert in your field. If you've gotten positive feedback from people who know what they're talking about (and who aren't fake), then those same customers may trust you enough to pay higher prices for services or products than if there were no testimonials at all (or if those testimonials were negative).

Paula Smith: Education 2020 -- An Emerging Consensus About Learning - 0 views

  • we need to add a truly human dimension to our educational benchmarks
  • First, an increasing number of people have concluded that we need to add a truly human dimension to our educational benchmarks.

Weblogg-ed » Don't, Don't, Don't vs. Do, Do, Do - 11 views

  • I wondered aloud to some administrators and teachers later if the stiff policies spoke volumes about what they weren’t teaching in their classrooms K-12 as their students went through the system. I mean wouldn’t it seem that if kids were taught throughout the curriculum about the ethical and appropriate use of computers and the Internet that much more of that policy could be spent going over what students could actually do with the computer rather than the “don’t dos” that were listed? At that point, we’d probably have to change the name to an “Admirable Use Policy” or something, but imagine if students walked in on the first day of class, picked up that policy and read things like:
  • “Do use our network to connect to other students and adults who share your passions with whom you can learn.” “Do use our network to help your teachers find experts and other teachers from around the world.” “Do use our network to publish your best work in text and multimedia for a global audience.” “Do use our network to explore your own creativity and passions, to ask questions and seek answers from other teachers online.” “Do use our network to download resources that you can use to remix and republish your own learning online.” “Do use our network to collaborate with others to change the world in meaningful, positive ways.”
