  • While reading OECD’s publication Education Today, I noticed a StatLink option under each of the tables/charts. StatLink is part of OECD’s ongoing initiative to make data available in original form. A simple click and data is downloaded into a spreadsheet for happy manipulation by the user. A simple, but important idea. OECD also offers a tool to visualize data. The data is somewhat limited (employment, productivity, educational attainment, GDP, etc) in scope, but the willingness to share not only original data but also software to assist in making sense of data is a welcomed gesture!

Posterous - The place to post everything. Just email us. Dead simple blog by email. - 1 views

  •
Posterous lets you post things online fast using email. You email us at post@posterous.com and we reply instantly with your new posterous blog. If you can use email, you can have your own website to share thoughts and media with friends, family and the world. What can I send to posterous? You can attach any type of file and we'll post it along with the text of your email. We'll do smarter things for photos, MP3's, documents and video (both links AND files). Here's just a sample of what we support. What do you do when I attach photos to an email? If you attach one photo (of any size, even direct from your camera!), we'll resize it to a web-friendly size and post it. If you attach more than one photo in the same message, we automatically create a good looking image gallery like this one:

Nice for embedding pdf or PPT files on your webpage, or providing a link to the file that can be viewed right in the browser. However, the document must be uploaded somewhere online first - must have a URL to access it.

  •
In Windows 7 (currently in beta), Problem Steps Recorder is a new feature that will record each and every step a user takes and document the entire operation in both screen captures and step-by-step details. It will save the resulting capture in a ZIP file allowing the user to easily send it by e-mail or file share to a support professional. In this article, MVP Daniel Petri will walk you through using this cool tool.

"This document is a compilation of available worldwide ICT4E policies and plans, at both a national and Ministry of Education level (where available). To enhance the reach and quality of teaching and learning through the effective use of ICTs, policy makers need to be aware of how to best utilize ICTs to create value-add for their country's education system. A supportive policy environment and framework, developed at the national level is key to the successful integration of ICTs into any education system. "
