Jumbo Bag Unloading System, Pneumatic Conveying System, Dust Collector, Cement Storage ... - 0 views

  •
The KHODIYAR INFRATECH Jumbo Bag Unloading System, also known as Jumbo bag dischargers and super sack unloaders are specifically designed to provide an easy, clean and economical way to discharge the entire contents of bulk and semi-bulk bags, especially when the material is less than free-flowing. Jumbo bags can be placed in the Jumbo bag unloader by fork lift, hoist or crane from floor level. An integral hoist on a monorail can be furnished if desired. Material can discharge by gravity into storage, a process vessel or a conveying system for transfer to another location. Modular construction of the discharge portion underneath the bed facilitates the use of a wide range of devices such as feed screws, rotary valves, lump breakers. http://www.khodiyarinfratech.com/jumbo-bag-unloading-system.html

Electronic literature uses links, images, sound, navigation, as well as text to convey meaning. Electronic literature is ergodic, and thus it is up to the reader to piece together the materials as the reader goes through the work. Elit 101explains how these elements work to convey meaning and provides examples and exercises for each element.

Video information kiosk is in accurate arrangement with today's necessity for brands to have an in-business sector special framework, which conveys a limited and custom-made experience for the buyer to streamline deals. Seven Language Moves for Learning - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
Our language choices communicate both intended and unintended messages. In the choices we make, in the subtlety of these choices, lies a truth more powerful than that conveyed by a literal reading of our words. When we look closely and critically at our use of language, we begin to see particular patterns which reveal much about what we genuinely value and expect from our learners.

How Not to Be Alone - NYTimes.com - 17 views

  • Technology celebrates connectedness, but encourages retreat.
  • The phone didn’t make me avoid the human connection, but it did make ignoring her easier in that moment, and more likely, by comfortably encouraging me to forget my choice to do so.
  • The more distracted we become, and the more emphasis we place on speed at the expense of depth, the less likely and able we are to care.

  • Most of our communication technologies began as diminished substitutes for an impossible activity.
  • These inventions were not created to be improvements upon face-to-face communication, but a declension of acceptable, if diminished, substitutes for it.
  • we began to prefer the diminished substitutes.
  • it’s easier to check in without becoming entangled.
  • Each step “forward” has made it easier, just a little, to avoid the emotional work of being present, to convey information rather than humanity.
  • My daily use of technological communication has been shaping me into someone more likely to forget others.

Print: These Lectures Are Gone in 60 Seconds - Chronicle.com - 0 views

  • HOW TO CREATE A ONE-MINUTE LECTURE Professors spend a lot of time crafting hourlong lectures. The prospect of boiling them down to 60 seconds — or even five minutes — may seem daunting. David Penrose, a course designer for SunGard Higher Education who developed San Juan College's microlectures, suggests that it can be done in five steps: 1. List the key concepts you are trying to convey in the 60-minute lecture. That series of phrases will form the core of your microlecture. 2. Write a 15 to 30-second introduction and conclusion. They will provide context for your key concepts. 3. Record these three elements using a microphone and Web camera. (The college information-technology department can provide advice and facilities.) If you want to produce an audio-only lecture, no Webcam is necessary. The finished product should be 60 seconds to three minutes long. 4. Design an assignment to follow the lecture that will direct students to readings or activities that allow them to explore the key concepts. Combined with a written assignment, that should allow students to learn the material. 5. Upload the video and assignment to your course-management software.   http://chronicle.com Section: Information Technology Volume 55, Issue 26, Page A13

The Winnie the Pooh Guide to Blogging - Copyblogger - 0 views

  • glucose-low grumpiness
  • Tug on their sleeve. Tap on their shoulder. Pull on their hand. Whisper in their ear.
  • If the person you are talking to doesn’t appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.
  • ...4 more annotations...
  • People really do have fluff in their ears, so work on conveying your message more effectively in your comment section or write up a new post to clarify the concept.
  • The bigger picture was more important than the little hitches along the way.
  • Obstacles cropped up constantly, but that didn’t bother Pooh either. He expected adversity to happen. When it did, Pooh seemed almost pleased, as if he were greeting an old friend come to visit.
  • You’ve come this far, and you can do it again, so there’s no point in getting stressed out until your seams split. Make a new plan and get on with it.
  •
Given that the happiness and feelings of his friends are Pooh's chief concern (other than hunny, that is), he'd likely build a strong community as a blogger. Here are six social media lessons we can all learn from the lovable bear who's stuffed with fluff.

Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education - 1 views

    • Caroline Bucky-Beaver

Under the 4th Principle regarding students' use of copyrighted material the article references students' use of copyrighted music. They cannot rely on it when their goal is to establish a mood or convey an emotional tone, or to simply use a popular song to exploit its appeal. This is what I find most students doing when they are using copyrighted songs. In order to use copyrighted songs, they have to demonstrate how they have repurposed or transformed the original. I'm curious to see examples of this that meet fair use.
  • FIVE:  Developing Audiences for Student Work
  • If student work that incorporates, modifies, and re-presents existingmedia content meets the transformativeness standard, it can be distributed to wideaudiences under the doctrine of fair use.
  • ...6 more annotations...
  • Educators and learners in media literacy often make uses of copyrighted works outside the marketplace, for instance in the classroom, a conference, or within a school-wide or district-wide festival. When sharing is confined to a delimited network, such uses are more likely to receive special consideration under the fair use doctrine.
  • Especially in situations where students wish to share their work more broadly (by distributing it to the public, for example, or including it as part of a personal portfolio), educators should take the opportunity to model the real-world permissions process, with explicit emphasis not only on how that process works, but also on how it affects media making.
  • The ethical obligation to provide proper attribution also should be examined.
  • This code of best practices, by contrast, is shaped by educators for educators and the learners they serve, with the help of legal advisors. As an important first step in reclaiming their fair use rights, educators should employ this document to inform their own practices in the classroom and beyond
  • MYTH:  Fair Use Is Just for Critiques, Commentaries, or Parodies. Truth:  Transformativeness, a key value in fair use law, can involve modifying material or putting material in a new context, or both. Fair use applies to a wide variety of purposes, not just critical ones. Using an appropriate excerpt from copyrighted material to illustrate a key idea in the course of teaching is likely to be a fair use, for example. Indeed, the Copyright Act itself makes it clear that educational uses will often be considered fair because they add important pedagogical value to referenced media objects.
  • So if work is going to be shared widely, it is good to be able to rely on transformativeness. As the cases show, a transformative new work can be highly commercial in intent and effect and qualify under the fair use doctrine.
