    mobile application design that developers should keep in mind: Users will not tolerate mobile apps that are perceived as slow to open or operate. Speed is even more important for apps than it is for websites on a computer. Users are often accessing these apps when they have only a few minutes of downtime, and so speed is paramount. Apps do not allow multi-tasking the way that browsers on a computer do, so users require instant gratification. Simplicity of functionality and organization are key to good mobile app design. Mobile apps should be linear in design-this is distinct from a typical website approach that offers multiple paths and options. Apps present you with menus, you do what you need to do, and you move out. Mobile app users do not want to be overwhelmed by too many choices and distractions when they are trying to access a feature. People want fewer choices in mobile, because if you put too many choices in mobile, users will give up.

  • According to a FAQ on Picasa's support site, the photo-sharing service provides up to 1 GB of free storage for photos and videos to its users. But since Google+ actively encourages storing and sharing photos - its Android app even offers an "instant upload" option - there may have been some concern about storage limits among Picasa users. As it turns out, there's nothing to worry about. If you're signed up for Google+, photos up to 2048x2048 pixels and videos up to 15 minutes long won't count towards this free storage limit. And Google will automatically resize photos for you when you upload them to Google+, so they stay under the free size limit. That means only photos uploaded directly to Picasa Web Albums over the 2048x2048 size will count towards the 1 GB of free storage, explains Google. And when that limit is reached, photos will be automatically resized. Meanwhile, for non-Google+ users, there are slightly stricter rules: photos up to 800x800 and videos up to 15 minutes won't count towards free storage. Again, when the 1 GB limit is reached, larger photos will be resized down. Simply put, this means that whether you're on Google+ or not, Picasa offers unlimited free storage for photos and videos (under 15 minutes). The difference is that Google+ users can upload higher resolution photos to Plus/Picasa without being penalized.

    Just heard this from a friend and verified with the above article: "Signing up for Google+ has its perks, all your Picasa Web Album photos smaller than 2048 x 2048 pixels will not count towards the 1GB limit placed on your account, up from the 800 x 800 pixels if you do not have G+. My storage usage just went from 1 GB down to 0 MB LOL Hurray for Google+!"

    Access Gmail on iOS4 device. For Chee to set up new iPad. First step is critical (enable IMAP). Otherwise, use older instructions from link in same page.

    Thanks Ashley for your instant info and advise. I reset my Linksys wireless router IP Address back to 192.168.1.1 default and manage to connect to the Internet and setup the Gmail account instantly. I also thanks Sally for the help and tips!

However, teachers are strictly forbidden to communicate with students through any personal means, such as private instant messages or through personal Facebook profiles. According to the advisory, teachers must decline student-initiated friend requests, and never initiate a friend request with a student. The college asserts that when a teacher and a student become friends in an online environment, the dynamic between them is forever changed. An invisible line between professional and personal is crossed, which can lead to strictly forbidden informal conversations.

    CreateBuzz QR Code creates 2 types of QR Codes. One is normal, and the other is trackable. The trackable QR Code has a different URL. When it is read, it is actually reading the trackable URL which then redirects to the page that was defined initially. Quick tests on several devices and QR Code readers show that some QR Code readers did not do the re-direction. Hence these scans were not tracked. Alternatively, use bit.ly because it tracks clicks. Use the shorten URL to generate the QR Code. Any scan to the QR Code which points to the shorten URL will be recorded. It shows the time the scans were done and region as well.
