Adobe Demos Flash-to-HTML5 Conversion Tool [VIDEO] - 1 views

  • At Adobe’s MAX conference the other night, that message was made manifest with a live demonstration of a Flash to HTML5 conversion tool, which is currently in the works. The tool is incredibly impressive in that it can convert full Flash animation into HTML5 on the fly
  • Watch the demonstration video to get an idea of how users will be able to take elements from within the newly converted HTML5 code to re-insert elsewhere on a web page
  • Those animations or interactions will now be viewable on all kinds of devices — including the iPhone () and iPad. This is where we think that this HTML5 conversion tool has real possibilities. It’s one thing to be able to convert a movie or animation
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • Adobe might be serious about wanting to push Flash and Adobe Air () on mobile platforms like the BlackBerry PlayBook, HP’s webOS and Google’s () Android (), but that doesn’t mean that the company isn’t listening to its customers and providing cross-platform solutions that can work on the many different device types

App Store - Air Projector - 1 views

Air Projector is free right now. Present wirelessly from the app to a web browser on the same network.
  •
A useful tool for wirelessly projecting and "laser-pointing" photos. Projecting and presenting with PDFs is less direct but just as nifty.

I just happened to think: Imagine if this pattern-recognition tech concept could be adapted to mobile phones in the near future, it might make for a very powerful blended learning / augmented reality tool. :) According to the researcher, implementation for mobile devices is feasible. Possible applications for m-learning could be: gestural recognition, dynamic object association and the like. E.g. If we could use an iPhone/Kinect to track a student's movements and remotely control an external apparatus halfway across the globe (maybe explore an Amazonian jungle to study biodiversity first-hand), or help disabled students (maybe cerebral palsy sufferers) communicate their thoughts more clearly... or perhaps get the students to "air-sketch" Chinese/Tamil characters to produce music on the go... Control Google Earth like a Jedi with Leap Motion - 1 views

  • Leap Motion – which is basically Kinect on steroids – is a tiny sensor that lets you control your Windows, Mac, or Linux PC with precise mid-air gestures. The company wants to launch with as much great software support as possible, and Google Earth is a big feather in that cap. With version 7.1 for desktops (available now) you can now use Leap to zoom through big cities, rustic boroughs, and Arctic tundra like you’re Obi Wan Kenobi.

Adobe Releases Flash-to-HTML5 Converter, Codenamed Wallaby - 0 views

  • Monday night, Adobe released a new, experimental Flash-to-HTML5 conversion tool codenamed Wallaby.Wallaby is an AIR app that lets devs and designers quickly and simply convert Flash Professional files to HTML5 — and when we say “simply and easily,” we mean it’s a matter of dragging and dropping. The company is specifically hoping this tool will make it easier for designers and developers to get their content onto iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad.

Google Plus Opens to All & Announces 9 New Features - 0 views

  • Hangouts - the video chat feature - have come to mobile, currently supporting Android 2.3+ devices, and iOS support is "coming soon." Hangouts also now have an "On Air" feature, which allows any Google Plus user to tune in and watch. Furthermore, Hangouts now offer screensharing, a shared sketchpad, and names for Hangouts. But perhaps the killer app is Google Docs in Hangouts, which will open up the possibility of live collaborative work (especially once Google Apps accounts get access).

8 Cool Marketing Campaigns Using Facebook Places - 1 views

  • Promoting Events Electronic Arts U.K. hosted a “Play4Xmas” tour at six different shopping malls across the UK in November and December. Those who checked in at each event had a chance to win up to 10 games per day.
  • Ambush Marketing Instead of paying an arm and a leg for an exhibition table at the ITB Berlin (the world’s largest travel tradeshow), Germanwings used Facebook Places to create check-ins at each one of its competitors at the fair. When someone checked in at an airline’s booth, their status update would read something like “Air France: France for a bargain price is only available from Germanwings” thanks to their hidden messages.
  • Facebook Places provides viral marketing for a company since every check-in shows up in the news feed of the user’s friends. It allows businesses to create incentives for those who come to their physical location or events.
  •
a great marketing campaign idea. using check-ins to promote upcoming events or event-specific places or even hardcore ambush marketing.
