I found this by chance just exploring around. If you check the SUPPORT section on the VoiceThread site, you will find a list of publications. They posted a collection of abstracts with links of scholarly articles written about using VoiceThread for language learning, K-12, higher education and professional development. I just skimmed through the lists, and some of the articles are accessible, while some are behind a password.

This is a collection of webinars from two of the national language resource centers (LARC and CALPER). They address issues surrounding assessment and could be very educational and helpful professional development for language teachers.

Downloadable educator's guide by Linda Fogg Phillips, written at Facebook's request.  The homepage says:   "Our commitment to you is to provide an easy way to stay updated as changes occur with Facebook.  We created this website to do just that, in addition to providing you with even more insights, guidance, and resources." but that still doesn't tell me much about what's in the guide...

The why and how of using digital stories in language ed

Digital storytelling is so awesome! I got a chance to create a digital story through the Minnesota Writing Project Invitational Summer Institute and it was an awesome experience. I'd highly recommend looking into your local branch of the National Writing Project to see what resources or professional development are available.

Definitely one of my passions as a teacher- helping students get to the point where they can tell their own stories.

You are right. At the beginning I was "Whatttt!" but then this had sense. Interesting speech for parents, and for teachers!!

Twitter, the popular microblogging site that allows users to post 140-character "tweets," both intrigues and irritates faculty, according to a Faculty Focus survey. Some embrace it as a clever way to teach concision and get students writing, thinking, and connecting with the course material and one another.

They're fine...but huge to implement on a consistent basis: by 'huge' I mean both in terms of time, and space - to get one's head around them all conceptually. And it can also be a challenge for students to buy into the responsibility for their own leaning. HTML...yes, sometimes, in designing activities writhing my LMS. Blogging...no! Takes too much thought and self- confidence! Tweeting...yes! I love passing on items that have been helpful to me. And yes...II guess tweeting is providing glimpses of great PD resources. Now all I have to do is to go back to them in more depth.
