This is a great tool for teachers who develop lesson plans around readings.

This is a pretty cool site, even in its basic version. It will generate a lesson oriented to ELLs, using vocabulary clues, pronunciation, reading comprehension questions, and tie the lesson it creates to Comon Core standards. I pasted in text from a fairly complex academic article, and LessonWriter did a rather good job in these tasks, generating several pages of exercises for students, and also a lesson plan with key to the answers for the teachers. The lesson was printable, savable as pdf, and could be emailed to students or put on a webpage. This would be a great tool for teacher training: student teachers could study the lessons that are generated to see how that work--or don't.

" This seems to be a hany app that allows you to design and record and draw with one app. Available at the iTunes store. So far iPad only, but their site at knowmia.com also gives tips for creating lessons using other tools and storing them at their website.

Created by Paul Adams, this crowd-sourcing site collects lesson plans and activities from teachers and lets other teachers download pdfs and use them. Categorized roughly by themes and grammar structures, there is a lot of helpful cross-referencing. Each lesson has a designated level (intermediate, elementary, etc.) and a brief abstract. Most lessons are for teens/adult learners. It's up to you what pedagogy or approach is going to work with your students. It's free -- add your own lesson!

Uses a course wiki for planning lessons and presentations. Student-teachers post a version of their lessons and then discuss in workshop, later using the wiki "comment" function. Students then revise their lessons and resubmit for evaluation by the instructor.

We all know lesson-planning is hard: "Here you will find free printable lesson plan templates, make sure to print off a few different choices and try each one for a week or two and see which one feels the best." So many choices, but they are going to be useful. Most are free. Or check out some of the big sites like PBS or Discovery Channel which have completed examples of lessons that you can capitalize on for your own.

"Reading Bear is a free service that offers narrated lessons on recognizing and pronouncing letters and words. There are also some lessons on prefixes and suffixes. Students can control the pace of each lesson to match their needs. "After each lesson on Reading Bear students can take quizzes to test their skills. The quizzes present a picture and a set of words. Students have to match the correct word to the picture that they see. Through the narrator, students receive instant feedback on each question in the quiz." I am not convinced that these topics are a good idea for K-3, but if this is in your curriculum, this site might be a good option.

Using the search tools teachers can find lesson plans for every K-12 grade aligned to national standards for U.S. History. Teachers can search for lesson plans and other materials by grade level, resource type, historical era, and cross-curricular connections. " This material is useful for any online teacher around the world as a history source.

A Google Search Education site with literacy lessons. "On this page, you'll find Search Literacy lessons and A Google A Day classroom challenges. Our search literacy lessons help you meet the new Common Core State Standards and are broken down based on level of expertise in search: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. "A Google A Day challenges help your students put their search skills to the test, and to get your classroom engaged and excited about using technology to discover the world around them. "

A nice set of lesson plans for middle-school to high-school students using Diigo to explore content areas. You need to sign in through a Purdue University portal to access the lessons. "Diigo is an awesome tool to use in the classroom. Teachers across the globe have used the social bookmarking tool to motivate and engage students in collaborative learning projects. This section will give you the opportunity to explore numerous lesson ideas on how to incorporate Diigo into your subject area. Diigo will help students develop and improve skills in communication, organization, and classification. Feel free to use these resources. We are sure it will make teaching easier and more exciting, while enhancing student academic performance."

An excellent video of the teacher and students using the lesson plan, this lesson from the Teaching Channel walks you through preparation for a writing assignment. It was developed through an EQuIP Peer Review Panel to ensure alignment with the Common Core standards, and was created by teachers and administrators working with the Massachusetts Dept of Elementary and Secondary Ed Model Curriculum Project. It uses a "Smart Chart" to deepen student understanding of rhetorical devices and has students collaborate in a ranking activity. Has links to a place where you can submit your own lessons for a free EQuIP panel review, and links to other related lesson plans.

These tools include lesson planners, ways to organize and share lessons, and several that link directly to search tools to find standards related to your lesson plans. Should be a help for training teachers, even if the Common Core is not the standards you are interested in using.

Completely free online lessons for your beginners and false beginners. A great way to supplement your own lessons and get students to listen and practice totally authentic language.

The video not only lists the tips, it contains examples of using these tips to teach art history and art appreciation lessons to students." Most of the great art museums and natural history museums of the world have websites with instructional materials of very high quality. It's worth some time to explore what they offer and figure out how to adapt their resources for your classes. One of the other excellent resources on MoMA Learning is this glossary of art terms. In many cases the definitions in the glossary contain links to multiple examples of each term. R. Stannard shows us how to use any video online, and Ted Ed in particular to create and share lessons based on video content. Shows us how to find pre-created lessons on content we want to use, creating lesson questions and discussion, and sharing. Videos are great for listening speaking and forcontent-based language learning, especially has YouTube has a built-in closed captioning system.

This very full crowd-sourced site, "We are Teachers," hashundreds of lesson plans in various subjects, including some especially for ELL's (ESL). Many lesson directly link to the Common Core Standards. There are also community and education directories, links to grants and contests, and a place to organize and store your professional development gear and lesson plans.
