A session on TESOL Technology Standards: Why, How, and for Whom. This explanation of the new TESOL Tech Standards explains how they were developed and where to find them online. There are many good lesson plans in the Standards, demonstrating how good technology can be embedded in good practices at many levels and with many levels of technology access.

This site would be useful for international teachers as well as U.S. teachers who work with the Common Core standards. .Each standard is listed with sample activities that students can do to show proficiency in each standard. Content-based.

" The site promised to give the best digital products for your curriculum and their relationship to the Common Core.

"ClassDojo allows you to create your own standards to record in your class rosters. For high school students you could set standards for participation in classroom discussion be creating a standard like like "use of evidence in argument" or "thoughtful consideration and reply to opposing viewpoints." If your students are working in groups you could create standards like "efficient delegation of tasks" or "makes effort to include all group members."" Although this article is about the Common Core State Standards in the U.S. (similar to the European Union's common standards), it discusses how to apply the standards in ways that promote the integration of technology as well as active and meaningful class participation -- good advice for all teachers.

These tools include lesson planners, ways to organize and share lessons, and several that link directly to search tools to find standards related to your lesson plans. Should be a help for training teachers, even if the Common Core is not the standards you are interested in using.

This important article by the ACTFL discusses how the U.S. Common Core standards can be aligned with the National Standards for Learning Languages. Presents several diagrams and other visuals to help teachers see the crossovers for each skill--reading listening, speaking, and writing--in presentational and interpersonal modes, and how culture is woven into the whole.

Just one blog entry in a long debate. Follow the link to Deborah Meier's blog as well. Maybe it's time to ditch standardized testing as a way of measuring children -- and schools. As one writer said, why not also use them to measure neighborhoods and cities as well?

" Looks very well done--has video workshop and materials, all free.

This appears to be an infographic that shows how various Internet tools support the Common Core Standards, though it doesn't seem to mention the Common Core. The standards listed, however, are quite ins[iring, and the visual elements with small abstracts desribing each tool, are helpful for finding something that might work with your own classes.

This site links to a course design rubric for online and hybrid courses, promulgated by the California State University consortium. The site also links to K-12 and Secondary standards.

This blog contains a great deal of useful information about what the U.S. Common Core State Standards are and what students need to do to prepare for them. Very valuable to teachers, even in states and countries that have not adopted a common core-type of curriculum.
