Very detailed description of how to create little presentations or posters using Flickr photos, videos, et al. Use Popplet for student projects, brainstorming, creative designs. Also allows you to add captions/text and draw on images you use.

Despite the explanatory text, this app is indeed ready to download for iPad. This is a nice use of technology to explain other technologies. You go through a browser screen to a Website, then draw on the iPad screen to demonstrate functionality while the app records what you do. What a cool app.

Explain Everything is another useful iPad app to create lessons/lectures for your students. Use fingers to draw, add images or video, record what you do on the screen as a movie with audio, and export the resulting video to, i.e., YouTube. In this YouTube tutorial, a teacher explains how students can use the app for their projects.

A great way to choose and create custom colors for your website or illustrations.Students could use this with Graphic Converter or other drawing program to create or touch up images.

Most of these are ways to create posters or murals for a school project, but also includes Word Draw, a site to create flyers, newsletters, etc., and Picovico, where you can turn photographs from Facebook, Flickr, or a computer, into cool videos using captions, text slides, and their templates.

There are some good ideas here, mainly because they are encouraging students to draw some of their own conclusions about how they appear on the Internet, and what the dangers might be.

These are 4 websites/tools I hadn't heard of before, and any of them would be very useful for student projects. Mural.ly lets students collaborate on posters by emai invite. Wor Draw turns out professional-looking flyers, resumes, and newsletters-- good for a class newspaper. Tackk lets you add pictures, videos, and music from various social websites, and Picovico is perhaps the mos impressive because it creates videos from your photos and text. (Thanks to M. Sheehan.)

The Science Genius project is demonstrated through an energetic classroom teacher. The project aims to use students' local culture, in this case rap/hip-hop, to engage students' attention and draw them into science concepts actively. Great video demonstration, and also works for students who haven't ever written rap music before.

Pixabay was recently updated to make it easier than ever to find quality public domain images. Now when you visit the search page on Pixabay you can filter your search according to image type (photo, drawing, vector), image orientation (landscape or portrait), and image category (subject matter).
