Sentences are broken up into words that can be rearranged and moved around the desktop to make poetry, re-create a target sentence, or make new sentences and punctuate it. This description of how a computer science instructor flipped his class is really a classic. You can do this with any subject, and not too long ago we did something very similar with Shaking the Way We Teach English for 20,000+ EFL teachers in an online class that ran fro over 2 years in 6-week intervals. This approach really works.

This might be very useful for listening-speaking practice with your students, since they can call from their own phones, rather than getting to a computer to Skype.

SnagIt is a screen capture technology. Here R. Stannard's short video (14 min.) shows 5 was to use SnagIt in the flipped classroom. SnagIt allows you to record the computer screen and the audio as well, so a presentation can use a variety of resources, such as YouTube or a PowerPoint presentation, with your own description, information, questions, etc. NB: This address is Stannard's YouTube channel, which gives access to many other of his videos.

A small app will record from your computer over slides and videos. You will probably quickly run out of storage on the KV cloud and be asked to move to the (paid) pro version. However, this might be useful for students to make their own presentation sound great -- good listening/speaking practice. Students must sign up to use the app, but can share their productions through email addresses. I don't know if it is any simpler or more functional than the built in recording function of PowerPoint, or any of the free recorders like Audacity.

This app is like Evernote on steroids. Free from Microsoft, you can organize a whole class using the apps built into the interface for all devices, both computers and mobile. Organize and publish lesson plans and assignments, create quizzes and make hand-written notes on them, send emails, add photos from other devices, create video and audio messages, clip any webpage to view later on or offline. Works with a large number of other apps, such as fax/scanner tools, Feedly for archiving information, smart pens, ModNotebooks, which digitizes paper and pencil documents. The app gives you the option to read each story or to read along with each story while listening to the narrator." Looks like a good application to use in a one-computer classroom, where a small group of children might listen to a story in the corner. Read along while listening is a great way to learn to read and learn the sounds of a new language.

Publication of the IEEE Computer Socity Learning Technology Task Force The Learning Technology aims to report the activities of Learning Technology Task Force including various announcements, work in progress, projects, participation opportunities, additions/modifications to the website and so on. In short, it would serve as a channel to keep everyone aware of Task Force's activities.
