There are several dozen things Big Huge Labs let you do with photos, either on the Internet, or uploaded (if you register), or linked from Flickr or FaceBook: make gifts, art posters, a movie poster, magazine cover, jigsaw, wallpaper, etc. Would be fun for student projects.

Posters, websites, and video that explain statistics, particularly for the world of humans, in visual ways. A good way to investigate culture and content areas, as well as math.

Very detailed description of how to create little presentations or posters using Flickr photos, videos, et al. Use Popplet for student projects, brainstorming, creative designs. Also allows you to add captions/text and draw on images you use.

Most of these are ways to create posters or murals for a school project, but also includes Word Draw, a site to create flyers, newsletters, etc., and Picovico, where you can turn photographs from Facebook, Flickr, or a computer, into cool videos using captions, text slides, and their templates.

We all too often expect our students to "get into groups and discuss," but how often are these productive conversations? These tips/strategies are well worth practicing at the beginning of every year/semester, and not just with young learners. These tips are also a nice practice for EFL/ESL students as they prepare to speak with native speakers.

These are 4 websites/tools I hadn't heard of before, and any of them would be very useful for student projects. Mural.ly lets students collaborate on posters by emai invite. Wor Draw turns out professional-looking flyers, resumes, and newsletters-- good for a class newspaper. Tackk lets you add pictures, videos, and music from various social websites, and Picovico is perhaps the mos impressive because it creates videos from your photos and text. (Thanks to M. Sheehan.)

Though I don't usually recommend lists, this is an excellent collaboration and is at least partially organized into categories by academic subject, and in some cases types of work, e.g., publish your own writing, create books and posters, use a whiteboard, connect with other classes, etc. EdTechTeachers are a group of prominent teacher educators that consult with and train teachers on a paid basis.
