This e-book is free from British Council and is quite short, but contains important chapters on secondary and adult language teaching with technology, ESP, EAP, assessment (co-authored by Russell Stannard), and professional development.

The site has screencasts to show what students do and what instructors think about their work.

Tools mentioned are Visme, Padlet, Recap, Voxer, Picktochart, Nearpod (virtual field trips), Formative (assessment), Quizizz, Buncee (projects), Blendspace to share Websites and create lessons, Storyboard, BloomzApp for messaging and planning as well as translation. Offers 4 different tools than can help you and students with video and Web work: Scrible to annotate electronic texts lets students work collaboratively and teachers can use annotations for formative assessment and comments; VideoAnt lets you use video as texts to timestamp video for access later, type up notes in a sidebar, and share annotations; Kaizena Shortcut is a Google extension that allows detailed feedback, and can also be used for recordings; EDPuzzle lets teachers create lessons for instructional videos like Khan Academy and give feedback on students progress. These all sound worth a try.

R. Stannard shows how to use Quizlet and find ready-made sets in the interface. Quizlet also works inside Edmodo and can be used for tests and assessments. He also recommends that you teach students how to use Quizlet themselves, so as to review concepts and vocabulary for themselves.

An assessment rubric for teachers to analyze the Language of the WebQuests students have created. Very detailed with several levels of evaluation.

This blog entry shows two examples, one of a teacher-created rubric, and the other of a rubric created with the help of the students. The comparison shows that the students had a slightly different idea of what was being evaluated -- always good information to have.
