It has a short article on the why and how of rubric assessment, and also provides links to rubric-makers, a rubric template, and other online resources. "The rubric is one authentic assessment tool which is designed to simulate real life activity where students are engaged in solving real-life problems. It is a formative type of assessment because it becomes an ongoing part of the whole teaching and learning process. Students themselves are involved in the assessment process through both peer and self-assessment. As students become familiar with rubrics, they can assist in the rubric design process. This involvement empowers the students and as a result, their learning becomes more focused and self-directed."

This blog entry describes what a rubric is and how to create rubrics for your own purposes. "Authentic assessments typically are criterion-referenced measures. That is, a student's aptitude on a task is determined by matching the student's performance against a set of criteria to determine the degree to which the student's performance meets the criteria for the task. To measure student performance against a pre-determined set of criteria, a rubric, or scoring scale, is typically created which contains the essential criteria for the task and appropriate levels of performance for each criterion. "

The most notable of that free content being their rubrics for assessing critical thinking skills, collaboration, presentation, and creativity and innovation in project based learning assignments. The rubrics are available with or without Common Core alignment. You can download the rubrics as PDFs or Word documents."

Called "A collaborative rubric toolkit," the search engine will help you find a pre-created rubric, and has K-6 rubric sam[les for assessing student writing as well.

Looks like it would be easy and has lots of rubrics to share and use. There is also a page on "what is a rubric?"

Dozens of websites for creating rubrics, viewing samples, and a large section on Common Core state rubrics. As always with lists of lists, you will need to do some digging around to find what you need.

This is a good article about how to use rubrics appropriately. It suggests that you not use the Bloom taxonomy in rubrics just as a checklist, but to ensure rigor and relevance. A good resource.

You will need to use a rubric app (freely available) to set up a rubric in your Google Drive at Spreadsheets.

This is an exhaustive rubric for six domains of online teaching, including learner support and resources, organization, assessment, etc.

Shows how a class of 6th-graders creates their own holistic rubrics for a difficult class project using ideas from the Ontario Achievement Chart.

This blog entry shows two examples, one of a teacher-created rubric, and the other of a rubric created with the help of the students. The comparison shows that the students had a slightly different idea of what was being evaluated -- always good information to have.

This site links to a course design rubric for online and hybrid courses, promulgated by the California State University consortium. The site also links to K-12 and Secondary standards.

Very useful collection of links to pdf and Word files containing rubrics for various kinds of creative activities: case studies, critic thinking, oral communication and presentations, management and finance, peer evaluations, problem solving, writing, etc.

Add voice comments and video tutorials to any Google Doc. Students love to hear your voice. However, the rubrics offered are too high a language level to be of much use to my Freshman English ESL students. You could, however, add your own rubrics and "canned" comments.

Many of these checklists are like rubrics, and will help you choose iPad apps, determine how to evaluate blogging projects, etc.
