I stumbled across this site when I was looking for different primary source documents and lesson. I thought it was extraordinary! I haven't played around TOO much with it yet, but from what I can tell when you get into it, and look at a document/photo, it creates a web to related topics in a nice little interface, making searching for them easy peasy (like I said from what I can tell so far). I was impressed with it. =) From the site: Exploring the Digital Vaults is easy. You can browse through the hundreds of photographs, documents, and film clips and discover the connection between some of the National Archives' most treasured records. To use the media rich version of this site you will need to download the Adobe Flash 9 player.

For the book "Founding Brothers." I loved the story of the duel between Burr and Hamilton and this website told a lot of what the book said in fewer (but less exciting and/or descriptive!) words. Just a snapshot of the story. Also has a couple small pictures.

"There is no single objective way to describe why an artifact is significant to a culture. Objects are important to different people for different reasons. To make this idea personal, students will be invited to bring to class important cultural artifacts from their own lives. Each object will be "interpreted" by a student anthropologist who will make hypotheses regarding the importance of this object. The student anthropologist will also determine what this artifact says about the culture of the owner. The owner of the artifact will get a chance to tell their actual story."

Website that offers helpful approaches for students studying other nations. Identifies what students should focus on and how they can organize. Also provides exercises and helpful hints. The only downfall to this site is that it is purely text, no visuals.

This website has information on Past population growth and future population growth. Students can find out what forces are responsible for the world's human population. Students can learn from models of future human population growth.

Very Eurocentric, but cool for what it is.

In doing some research on benefactor Millie Speranza, first female president of a MN bank, I came across this awesome MN state document from 1919. What an awesome tool to compare state government today and in the past. Also, love that her family, Produce Exchange Bank, that grew to support many ongoing charitable gifts, is listed here with less than $5,000 in holdings. If you are a Catholic School teachers and want to pursue an MAED at St. Kate's, apply for the Millie Speranza fund!
