Students who are more advanced can write down the name of the shape they made. When blowing bubbles the students could also count how many bubbles they were able to make with each shape and write that number down.
ELL students could practice just making the shapes with pipe cleaners.
Students who are farther behind could work with other students in creating different shapes, but after that they could blow their own bubbles outside.
The students could also skip the bubble blowing and just create shapes with pipe cleaners and glue these on paper to create a pipe cleaner shape display.
Older students could also do this activity with more advanced shapes.

This could also be used as an addition or subtraction domino game in lower grades without changing the integrity of the game. It would also be easy to use as the level of difficulty of your problems increase. Laminating them to different colors would allow easy coding as to the level of difficulty of the problem.

This would also be easy to use with a multiplication activities in the introduction to division because you can look at division from the reverse and then because students should be familiar with multiplication the basis for division will become easier to manage.
Great for children learning/practicing place value. This can be used for other grade levels.Have your child tell you what number is in each place and the value of that number For example, if the number is 75, there is a 7 in the tens place and the value of that number is 7 tens or 70. Keep reading numbers aloud, but each time increase the number of digits.
This would be something to add to math stations...you could add to the lesson for ELL students by including an activity on listing English vocab words (with pictures) that they would sort to add to each shape.
Classify objects into given categories (in this case it could be by object or by color); count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.
For the more advanced students you could place them in pairs and one of the students would create a shape and their partner would then have to find the volume. Students could also find the area of the sides or the perimeter.
This activity could also be used when students do not understand the concept of volume. You could start the activity very slow with simply finding the volume of one cube and then gradually make the volumes more complex.

This game is fun with two or more players taking turns and keeping score, but can work just as well with one.

"Cash for Coupons" is a simple, fun activity which will save you time and reinforce your child's math skills along the way. Plus, it will give your child an opportunity to experience practical application of the math he's learning in the classroom.

This activity can be adjusted for ELL students by giving them manipulatives to work out their problems. It can also be adjusted for gifted students by challenging them to fill their entire BINGO card, rather than just a line of numbers. This activity can be used in older age groups by providing multiplication or division flash cards, rather than addition or subtraction flash cards.
4.G.3 "Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry."
This activity can be modified for gifted students by challenging them with more cards. Encourage them to use as many cards as they would like while participating in this activity! This activity can be used with younger ages by using objects other than cards. A big picture cut into pieces would help the students visualize symmetry, as it would be more like putting a puzzle together. The leader just gets to choose in what order the puzzle is assembled! Both players could check their work by knowing if the picture looks right.
A pair of students work together for this symmetry activity. The students sit across from one another, with playing cards dealt for each student. A ruler or other dividing line separates one student's side from the other. One player starts as the leader, and places one of their cards down on the table. The player on the other side of the line follows the leader in an attempt to match the first player's moves perfectly on their side of the divider.

This can also be used for gifted students in the opposite way. The allotted time can be shorter, which encourages them to give their answers quickly! This activity can be used with younger ages by having the students practice their math facts, rather than their multiplication facts.
In this activity, students play a game of war using multiplication facts. Each player flips over two cards, and says the math sentence for those two cards. For example, if one student flipped over a 4 and a 5, he or she would say, "4 x 5 = 20". Using a timer, the teacher can set a designated amount of time. When the time is up, each player counts their cards. The person with the most cards wins!

This activity can be modified for gifted students by adding the number of die used. Try using two or more die as a challenge! The final score can be adjusted as well. This may be beneficial for ELL students. Instead of using 30 as the score to try to reach, try using 20. In the same way, the final score can be raised for gifted students. This activity can be used for older ages by multiplying the numbers, rather than adding them.
Students take turns rolling a die. Each student starts with a score of 0. After each roll of the die, the students add the number rolled to the previous number, keeping a running total. The play continues for 8 rounds. The player with the score closest to 30, without going over, wins!

Adaptations: Gifted student can use other coins not mentioned to reach goal of $1.00. ESL students can draw pictures of currency to understand value of money used and use chart to understand place value. Special Ed students can have more time to count and be paired with another peer.
Extensions: (math/art/language arts/social studies) Use alphabet letters with numbers to count/ represent how many of the same objects are in the picture (sample: 6 branches on the tree)
Adaptations: Give Special Ed students option of markers or crayons. Allow ESL students to draw pictures from their cultural environment.
