To Be Or not To Be With Gusto : an individual or special taste enthusiastic and vigorous enjoyment or appreciation vitality marked by an abundance of vigor and enthusiasm. I find a few people that I follow have " Gusto !" Guy Kawasaki Fred Wilson Gothan Gal Frank Eliason Chris Brogan Seth Godin Louis Gray. Steve Rubel There was a book written a few years ago called the Talmud ! Among other things it stated We don't see things as they are we see things as we are ! [Talmud ] In my reads I find Dave Winer in the top slot as King Of Content Creation with Gusto ! I personally have only talked with Chris Brogan so I have to view the others as I read them ! For years I have been a student of General Semantics : Advocates of General Semantics view it as a form of mental hygiene that enables practitioners to avoid ideational traps built into natural language and "common sense" assumptions, thereby enabling practitioners to think more clearly and effectively. General Semantics thus shares some concerns with psychology but some do not consider it specifically as a therapeutic system, evaluating it as more focused on enhancing the abilities of normal individuals than curing pathology.
This post What made the Mac different Saturday, January 24, 2009 by Dave Winer. Is a great read and is a nice complement to Guy Kawasaki ! The people who I have mentioned above will be the driving force behind what many have called Social Media ! At 72 years old I was brought up on the old media and am afraid it is as dead As Custer ! I watch with saddness as it shuffes off the mortal coil ! Mortal coil is a poetic term that means the troubles of daily life and the strife and suffering of the world. It is used in the sense of a burden to be carried or abandoned, most famously in the phrase "shuffle[d] off this mortal coil" from Shakespeare's Hamlet. I once comm

Making Something From Nothing
This may be on of the best post's of the new year ! From Mr Fred Wilson
"That's a fundamental difference and we cannot ever lose sight of this fact. Nothing costs nothing. We don't have to pay for our ideas, imagination, and hard work we put into turning nothing into something. Well to be exact, the entrepreneur doesn't have to pay for any of those things. The VC does pay for those things and gets a piece of the ride from nothing to something as a result.!" January 1, 2009 Fred Wilson
Add to it this look up article from Dave Winer on helping friend feed http://www.scripting.com/
In one of my reblogs I added some thoughts regarding giving free help to Friendfeed Mr Wilson says it better nothing cost's nothing ! Me below !
"Or better yet have the Executives at Friend Feed follow the folks at Adaptive Blue these people have developed an application for all of us and they will succeed. http://www.adaptiveblue.com/!" Msandler
Making Something From Nothing.
I like Louis Gray's take on the new forms of Digital Media ! First I must explain my personal position I was kicked off Friend Feed for posting a Re-blog about Edelman Digital in the Wrong Room no warning one of their employees was complaining about my post's to another employee not to me ! Another from the UK sent me a Tweet saying I was a spammer ! My account was then without addressing the issue to me deleted , this to me is ok I am still alive but this is not a tactfull way of building a business ! Obviously only Geeks who communicate with machines not people are FriendFeeds Market ! Now I am 72 years old and am sure have more business and marketing experience in my little red wagon then the folks at Friend Feed ! They have built an excellent visual application and developed a following but they have and it is obvious no marketing direction ! Understand they have right to pick and acknowledge a client base but to survive their application needs a Universal Appeal us the unwashed not a Snob Appeal ! in Rick Warren is over the top (Scripting News) on Scripting News
As i've said many times before,
maybe in todays world it takes a german to spot the nazi,
because we know them when we see them.
And this Warren guy clearly is!
as for "embracing" him in the inauguration:
freedom of speech is one thing: offering them a platform and an endorsement is another.
Martin Niemöller put it clearly like this:
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out-
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out-
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out-
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me-
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

found Rick Klau's Blogspot while reviewing comments on a post by Louis Gray! It s no secret that I am a fan of Google and like the fact that their employees use a blog to express their ideas and thoughts-I am 73 years od and grew up in an era when an employee was never allowed to express themselves Publicly! These Employee Blogs let we the Unwashed know behind the Logo there are people just like US!

Micro Persuasion: Marketing Authentically with Personal Brands as Corporate All-Stars

Hook-If you are attempting to brand read Steve Ruble he and the folks at Edelman do it for a living and they do it with GUSTO ! I think the greatest site on the Internet to start branding your self is http://www.squidoo.com/
Squidoo is a community website based in Irvington, N.Y. that allows users to create pages (called lenses) for subjects of interest. Lenses are interactive, and can contain Flickr photos, Google maps, blogs, eBay auctions, YouTube videos, and other links. Squidoo is in the top 500 most visited sites in the world, and in the top 250 most viewed in the United States.[1] It has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity.
Development on Squidoo started in 2005, launching a beta testing period in October of that year.[2] The launch team consisted of Seth Godin, his book editor Megan Casey, former Fast Company employee Heath Row, Corey Brown, and Gil Hildebrand, Jr. Upon its announcement, Seth Godin, Squidoo's CEO, released a free ebook titled "Everyone's an Expert."[3] The ebook outlines the difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, and then goes on to detail lenses and their effectiveness as a "nowblog."
The site came out of beta testing two months later and reached 100,000 lenses within the first six months. It now has more than 700,000 lenses.
Squidoo owes its name to the squid, which has eyes containing large lenses, analogous to Squidoo's lenses which as Godin notes, "provide a view on the world."[4] It ends in "oo" since tech companies with two "o"s in their name - Google, Yahoo!, Godin's own Yoyodyne - have all been a success.[4]Key people Seth Godin, Founder.

I went on http://www.squidoo.com/squidwho/hqyou and looked up Dave Winer !
Dave Winer believes he is "one of the most hated people on the Internet" (full blog post). We tip our hats to him. It's quite an achievement. Considering all the trolls, jerks, and narcissists (yes, me too) who post like crazy on the Web, it's no mean feat to be hated by so many. This article on Mr Winer was written by a Cub Reporter for the Digital Daily Planet CNET Rafe Needleman I looked him up also not very exciting ! But the best Daily Planet reporters retired The Daily Planet is a fictional broadsheet newspaper in the DC Comics Universe, appearing mostly in the stories of Superman. The Daily Planet is based in Metropolis and employs Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen; its Editor In Chief is Perry White. Within the Superman comics, the Daily Planet is depicted as a famous nationally published newspaper of the same caliber as the New York Times. But if you want to cut the Bordom and have fun build yourself a Lens on Squidoo a venture from Seth Godin !

I am not sure any of the old media could ever pull off the a digital newsroom ! There are certain content creators like Chris Brogan Seth Godin Steve Rubel Dave Winer who could show them how, but will they understand ! I don't think so ! Most of the Old Media could not find there way with Google Earth ! Attached is a copy of tabbloid Seth Godin talks about how to create a newspaper tabbloid_2009-01-10_0901-seth-2-now
I was born in 1936 and sadly can get more infrmation from Twitter than any of the local media in Michigan, unless you wnat information you might find in A publication in the United States by this name was officially The National Police Gazette, although commonly referred to as simply the Police Gazette. It was founded in 1845 by George Wilkes, a journalist and sometime transcontinental railroad booster.[1] The editor for most of the 19th century was Richard K. Fox, an immigrant from Ireland. Ostensibly devoted to matters of interest to the police, it was more often a tabloid-like publication, with lurid coverage of murders, Wild West outlaws, and sport. It was well known for its engravings and photographs of scantily clad strippers, burlesque dancers, and prostitutes, often skirting on the edge of what was legally considered obscenity. The National Police Gazette enjoyed considerable popularity in the late 19th century and early decades of the 20th century; but its popularity decreased during the Great Depression. [1] It continued publishing until 1982. [2]
Musician Dan Hicks has claimed that he derived inspiration for some of his witty, satiric lyrics by stories he had read in The Police Gazette.
The website, www.policegazette.us[3], mimics the Police Gazette style in coverage of current events and contains some archival materials from the original publication that give a
