Here is one question and my answer:
CM: Historically, as the economy comes out of recession, it creates transformation and change. Which segments have the potential for transformation in an eventual recovery?
FW: Every industry that is based on knowledge or information or some other form of non-physical matter (atoms vs bits) is going to fundamentally transform and this downturn will be the darwinian forcing function. Think about energy and power systems, banking, media, education. They all have that aspect to them

One of Barack Obama’s campaign messages was the need to restore trust, and, if a new survey is any indication, he’s got his work cut out for him.
Nearly two-thirds of the public trusts corporations less than they did a year ago, according to the 10th Edelman Trust Barometer.
Just 38 percent of respondents said they trust business to do what is right – down 20 percent from last year. And that lack of trust comes from the top. Only 17 percent said they trust information coming from a company’s CEO. That’s lower than those Edelman measured after the Enron scandal, the dot-com bust and Sept. 11.

Hook-If you are attempting to brand read Steve Ruble he and the folks at Edelman do it for a living and they do it with GUSTO ! I think the greatest site on the Internet to start branding your self is http://www.squidoo.com/
Squidoo is a community website based in Irvington, N.Y. that allows users to create pages (called lenses) for subjects of interest. Lenses are interactive, and can contain Flickr photos, Google maps, blogs, eBay auctions, YouTube videos, and other links. Squidoo is in the top 500 most visited sites in the world, and in the top 250 most viewed in the United States.[1] It has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity.
Development on Squidoo started in 2005, launching a beta testing period in October of that year.[2] The launch team consisted of Seth Godin, his book editor Megan Casey, former Fast Company employee Heath Row, Corey Brown, and Gil Hildebrand, Jr. Upon its announcement, Seth Godin, Squidoo's CEO, released a free ebook titled "Everyone's an Expert."[3] The ebook outlines the difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, and then goes on to detail lenses and their effectiveness as a "nowblog."
The site came out of beta testing two months later and reached 100,000 lenses within the first six months. It now has more than 700,000 lenses.
Squidoo owes its name to the squid, which has eyes containing large lenses, analogous to Squidoo's lenses which as Godin notes, "provide a view on the world."[4] It ends in "oo" since tech companies with two "o"s in their name - Google, Yahoo!, Godin's own Yoyodyne - have all been a success.[4]Key people Seth Godin, Founder.

I went on http://www.squidoo.com/squidwho/hqyou and looked up Dave Winer !
Dave Winer believes he is "one of the most hated people on the Internet" (full blog post). We tip our hats to him. It's quite an achievement. Considering all the trolls, jerks, and narcissists (yes, me too) who post like crazy on the Web, it's no mean feat to be hated by so many. This article on Mr Winer was written by a Cub Reporter for the Digital Daily Planet CNET Rafe Needleman I looked him up also not very exciting ! But the best Daily Planet reporters retired The Daily Planet is a fictional broadsheet newspaper in the DC Comics Universe, appearing mostly in the stories of Superman. The Daily Planet is based in Metropolis and employs Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen; its Editor In Chief is Perry White. Within the Superman comics, the Daily Planet is depicted as a famous nationally published newspaper of the same caliber as the New York Times. But if you want to cut the Bordom and have fun build yourself a Lens on Squidoo a venture from Seth Godin !

I was born in 1936 and sadly can get more infrmation from Twitter than any of the local media in Michigan, unless you wnat information you might find in A publication in the United States by this name was officially The National Police Gazette, although commonly referred to as simply the Police Gazette. It was founded in 1845 by George Wilkes, a journalist and sometime transcontinental railroad booster.[1] The editor for most of the 19th century was Richard K. Fox, an immigrant from Ireland. Ostensibly devoted to matters of interest to the police, it was more often a tabloid-like publication, with lurid coverage of murders, Wild West outlaws, and sport. It was well known for its engravings and photographs of scantily clad strippers, burlesque dancers, and prostitutes, often skirting on the edge of what was legally considered obscenity. The National Police Gazette enjoyed considerable popularity in the late 19th century and early decades of the 20th century; but its popularity decreased during the Great Depression. [1] It continued publishing until 1982. [2]
Musician Dan Hicks has claimed that he derived inspiration for some of his witty, satiric lyrics by stories he had read in The Police Gazette.
The website, www.policegazette.us[3], mimics the Police Gazette style in coverage of current events and contains some archival materials from the original publication that give a

Kwame is coming to Texas?
Thank you for the the good wishes as Kwame sets his sights on my current state of Texas. I don't blame Kwame for planning to leave Detroit but I guess I don't understand why. Why leave a state where you have the support of a large portion of ignorant people in your hometown? Nobody is Dallas is going to buy his crap because he isn't from there and doesn't have as many business contact as he did in Detroit. I wanted to re read a book by one of my favorite authors and he is also a great musician ! Yes I found it!
Viva Ritmo Latino
Cuba and Its Music:
From the First Drums to the Mambo
by Ned Sublette
"This entertaining history of Cuba and its music begins with the collision of Spain and Africa and continues through the era of Miguelito Valdés, Arsenio Rodríguez, Benny Moré, and Pérez Prado. It offers a behind-the-scenes examination of music from a Cuban point of view, unearthing surprising, provocative connections and making a case for Cuba as fundamental to the evolution of music in the New World. Revealed are how the music of black slaves transformed 16th-century Europe, how the claves appeared, and how Cuban music influenced ragtime, jazz, and rhythm and blues. Music lovers will follow this journey from Andalucía, the Congo, the Calabar, Dahomey, and Yorubaland via Cuba to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Saint-Domingue, New Orleans, New York, and Miami. The music is placed in a historical context that considers the complexities of the slave trade; Cuba's relationship to the United States; its revolutionary political traditions; the music of Santería, Palo, Abakuá, Vodú, and much more.
Cuba and its Music is an ambitious project whose repercussions in a different genre might be on a par with those of Buena Vista. Grounded on frequent trips to the island and an extensive bibliography, this book by Ned Sublette is a first for an English-reading public: a didactic and accessible steer through part of Cuba's turbulent history and its music, whose parameters embrace cultural anthropology, sociology, politics, and history, as well as musicology and music. I also get a lot of great Latin Music from NPR http://www.ritmolatino.org/ Lijit is great search engine with excellent Tech Support it is great add for any web site http://www.lijit.com/about

If you read Mr Rubel you will understand the Value of Public Relation’s Firms especially when it comes to statistical analysis and content creation ! Mr Rubel knows a dangling participle is not a gadjet hanging from your I-Pod In grammar, a dangling modifier attaches itself to a word different from the one the writer apparently meant. [1] It may be intended to modify the subject of a sentence, but due to word order seems to modify an object instead. When such modifiers are participles, they often appear at the beginnings of sentences. For instance, in the sentence, “Walking down Main Street, the trees were beautiful,” the “walking down” modifier seems to connect to “the trees” in the sentence, when on reflection it really connects to the invisible speaker of the sentence. He or she is the one walking down the street (and finding the trees beautiful). Thus, the modifier is hanging on nothing, therefore dangling. I also know what dangling participle is because I went to Detroit Country Day School this is also the High School that Mr Steve Ballmer graduated from , but being born in 1936 I was there long before him ! Steve Anthony Ballmer (born March 24, 1956) is an American businessman and has been the chief executive officer of Microsoft Corporation since January 2000.[2] Ballmer is the second person after Roberto Goizueta to become a billionaire in U.S. dollars based on stock options received as an employee of a corporation in which he was neither a founder nor a relative of a founder. For years I have been a student of General Semantics : Advocates of General Semantics view it as a form of mental hygiene that enables practitioners to avoid ideational traps built into natural language and "common sense" assumptions, thereby enabling practitioners to think more clearly and effectively. General Semantics thus shares some concerns with psychology but some do not consider it specifically as a therapeutic system, evaluating it as more focused on enhancing the abilities of normal individuals than curing pathology.

I've learned a thing or two from the users of Checkmate, listened to the feature requests and I've decided it is time to release Checkmate 2.0. Checkmate 2.0 is built on the original version of Checkmate, but could almost be considered a completely new theme.
The interface has gotten a huge and much needed update. The layout is still simple and clean but now is more polished and modern. Customizing the CSS and the look of theme is even better, the entire site was coded with the end user customizing the site in mind.

Making Something From Nothing
This may be on of the best post's of the new year ! From Mr Fred Wilson
"That's a fundamental difference and we cannot ever lose sight of this fact. Nothing costs nothing. We don't have to pay for our ideas, imagination, and hard work we put into turning nothing into something. Well to be exact, the entrepreneur doesn't have to pay for any of those things. The VC does pay for those things and gets a piece of the ride from nothing to something as a result.!" January 1, 2009 Fred Wilson
