Well, true - making data public is one thing, and making others to work through them for you is another... I love the new term "citizen science" though (and an explanation on the Wikipedia page why they had to invent a new one because "crowdsourcing" is soooooo - politically - wrong).
Just in case you missed these one... should be of interest for ACT's climate modelling squad.
"As well as telling us more about Venus, it could be sending a warning to those on Earth seeking to inject our atmosphere with sulphur droplets in an attempt to mitigate climate change."
Looks like ESA suddenly realised there are some serious commercial spaceflight projects going on...
Anyway the effort looks to me a bit optimistic... shouldn't they ask the companies directly rather than counting they'll spot the call on ESA website and will bother to answer it?
This enigmatic statement is said to have generated a lot of hype in the blogosphere... in case you want to watch, 12:30 EST is 17:30 GMT and 18:30 CET.
A bit of self-ad here :-) Hear my lab colleague Tony Morse speaking about developmental robotics, and meet our little iCub...
As a bonus, have a peep into the kitchen and messy lab of the guys downstairs... my office is of course much nicer!!!
Could be fun actually... I liked most the part: "They were asked to (...) find food: meaning fishing, trapping animals, preparing food and cooking with primitive tools.". Roasted squirrel anyone?
