Acker Night Showcase Scholarships Program. Providing for and keeping the Arts alive in our schools

This is a musical event that usually takes place on the first week of December as a celebration to welcome Christmas. I lived in Prescott AZ 5 years ago and have been to this event for two different year. Most of the store in downtown have a local music group playing for almost 6 hours that day. The idea is to let people know about the group and bring support and possible donation for them. There are some great music and downtown just feels like a big caroling festival.

Description Our Urban Art, Food & Libations Walking Tour will take participants down alleyways, behind corners and thru one-way streets to view and learn about local urban art murals in the Midtown area of Sacramento. This is a fun event that my parents participate in coming up in my hometown! Enjoy good food and great art.

Flag The Photo Independent Art Fair debuts this year, occupying Raleigh Studios as a kind of unofficial neighbor/partner to Paris Photo L.A., which is happening the same weekend at nearby Paramount Studios. Forward-looking organizers have turned to thinking inside the box for a new way to promote visual artists. Some of the artists, meanwhile, are thinking outside the box to produce 50 small works each. Modeled after community-supported agriculture programs in which participants buy shares in a farm and later receive boxes of produce, community-supported arts initiatives have sprouted on both sides of the river.

This man draws without any hands. However, he is extremely talented on canvas. He has created over a thousand paintings.

I think the art is the way to make people fairly, because this great man shows that disable people also can chase their dreams. Art does not consider people as poor or rich, disable or not. It is just a way for people who devoted to their work.

I have a good friend that was born without the lower portion of one arm from the elbow down. She laughs when people say she can't do this or that...she can type and text faster than I can, and she was an allstar on her high school softball team. She said the only thing she cant do is twiddle her thumbs and clap her hands, (she has one hand).

The Cultural Forum proudly presents the Pacific Northwest Art Annual. This yearly juried exhibition was created to highlight emerging and established artists in our regions art world. This year, we are excited to be showing the work of over 15 artists ranging from traditional painters to mixed media artists, from May 5th to May 31st. There will be a reception for the opening day on May 5th at 2pm, featuring the local art, free food, and live music. The 2014 winner of this juried competition will be also announced.

Eugene A Go-Go is an online hub for people in Lane County to find out local art events, venues, and artists. It provides culture activities happening throughout Eugene from festivals, performances and exhibits to classes, auditions and ways to engage with the arts through volunteer and board opportunities.

The Richmond Night Market is a Asian influenced market and one of the biggest in North America. I visited this market this past weekend while visiting cousins in Vancouver and got enriched in so much culture. Booths were filled with different cultural foods as well as arts. There was also a carnival area as well as a concert stage for different local bands to perform. It goes on all summer long so if your ever in Canada make sure to check this out!
