In this article that I found, Victoria's Secret Angel Jessica Hart, declares that she didn't think that Taylor Swift was a good choice for this years fashion show. She doesn't really explain why just saying that she didn't "fit".

I thought this short article was interesting after reading about the "homo-hop" genre. It was helpful for me to hear the perspective of a gay rapper echoing Gebreamlak's assertion about Macklemore neglecting to address his white, straight privilege. I also thought it was interesting that Le1f bashes Macklemore for "ripping from" one of his songs. This brings to light the issues of authenticity and copying from other artists, which we discussed in regards to Lady Gaga.

I just found this amusing. The body swap between Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus is particularly funny as you could say they are known for being the complete opposite in where they stand.

This YouTube video ties into the discussion about discrimination and post-racial america. By watching this video it gives an amazing insight from the point of view of the youth and how gay marriage is perceived today. It would have been great to find a similar interview with children of the same age from 30 years ago and compare the opinions, just to see how perspectives have changed over the past decades. But what i found most intriguing is that some of the kids reactions where of confusion but when they were asked why they thought gay marriage was weird or 'crazy' they didn't actually know why. Is this because they don't understand what is going on, or is it because they actually think it weird? 

This was so cool! I've been taking sign languages course for a while and I just got into a YouTube black hole of signed songs and I stumbles upon this one! enjoy everyone!!

Article about Gaga's performance of her new song along with a video of her performing it at the YouTube Music Awards. I found Gaga's promotion of her new album very interesting as every stage seems to have been carefully constructed and planned as to get the most amount of exposure.

Holy cow, Lady Gaga is a wreck in this video. Don't get me wrong; I love Gaga, and I think she's insanely talented. Her emotions are completely reflected in her voice, though, and it was totally affecting her pitch. I wonder what that was all about.

The style of this song and the way she sung it reminded me a lot of Lana Del Ray's style! Very interesting and quite beautiful.

This is an extended trailer of a documentary called "Miss Representation".  The documentary explores the effect that media and media's portrayals of women affect women in every day life.  The actual documentary is on Netflix and is only an hour and a half long, and is definitely worth the watch.

Referencing a recent interview Lady Gaga had with Andy Cohen, this article discusses the validity of her proclaimed bisexuality, and whether it is simply made up for the sake of broadening her appeal to a wider audience

Interesting that when the Youtube Awards went on that everyone expected and focused the fact that the group who won best music award was not a popular American group or one that was really on the radar here.

This article is about Lady Gaga going back on what she "stands" for. It talks about how she now uses her music in commercials, and some argue she's a "sell out." The song used in the commercial, "Applause," kind of goes a long with the theme of this article and questions what Gaga's motves really are.

Interesting tumblr postings.  It seems that the author of this certain tumblr doesn't support Lady Gaga and other divas.  An interesting viewpoint, especially from Jennex's article.  

I read about this too while writing my position paper! I totally agree how it's kind of the total opposite of what Jennex said in his article!

I think this tumblr is brilliant - why should all gays be categorised into liking Gaga, like they advertise; they can see through the marketing machine,and they do not want to just settle for being a target market for artists to try and conquer as if the LGBT community is something that needs to be won!

It's an emotionally powerful song about jealousy and self-doubt... " I found these lyrics interesting because it seems the narrator of the song is aware their sig. other is cheating on them, but rather than "take action" and address the situation, the narrator uses more subtle actions and ultimately, damages herself. While one can appreciate Spears' attempt to encompass a large amount of deeper emotions, I personally believe this deters from feminism; these lyrics causes the woman to become the submissive in yet another aspect of life and seem like the cause of all issues.
