Media effects teens beliefs of alcohol by making drinking look desired. Teens are also more likely to copy their favorite or a cool character who is drinking alcohol. Media does affect the decision making process for children and teens.

Autism is found to be four more times common in boys than girls. People diagnosed with ASD either are high functioning or low functioning. The people who are considered high functioning are categorized as having Aspergers Syndrom in the autism spectrum. People diagnosed with AS are being placed in regular classrooms because typically they have average intelligence, or above average intelligence. Children with autism have difficulties understanding important information, literal thinking styles, comprehending and thinking abstractly, and have difficulties with their organization skills. Because of their inability to think abstractly, they have a difficult time learning how to read. Autistic children don't have a great attention span, they have trouble learning the rules of grammar, and they lack the motivation to learn to read. Hyperlexia is a term used to describe some autistic people. It means they have an understanding of the pronunciation and recognition of a word, but they lack the comprehension of the meaning of the word.

Many teens are oblivious to what is happening in the world, and it worries some. These are the teens that are going to be the next generation of leaders in the world and they are clueless. So some initiatives have been stared to stimulate an interst in the news for teens.

This article will be very strong for my paper. For the purpose of my research paper, I would like to focus on young adults. This journal article is directed specifically towards that. In the journal, there was a study done on high school and college level aged students who were asked questions regarding inflation, interest rates, and risk diversification. The best part of this article is that it show that students who are from a solid background, or have been to college, know much more about financiall literacy and how their money will spent in the future. I can use much of this information and studies in my paper.

This article shows certain indications, or in other words tell tale signs that many people who have problems with financial spending hold in common. The article has tables that show results on whether or not students had plans on how to spend their money, if they actually kept track of their money, and why they spent their money. The main point of the article was the difference between compulsive, and pre-determined purchases of college students. I also thought that this article would be good because the field work was done on international students. This shows that financial literacy is just not a problem amongst college students in the states. This problem is occurring all over the world and this article shows that.

Objective: The aims of the study were to assess whether women during the first year of college experience (1) significant weight gain; (2) a prospective relation between dietary restraint and weight gain; (3) an increase in disordered eating; and (4) a prospective relation between dietary restraint or concern about the Freshmen 15 (i.e., weight gain of 15 lbs during the freshman year of college) and disordered eating.\n\nMethod\nParticipants were 336 female students in their first year of college who completed questionnaire measures of Body Mass Index (BMI), eating disorder pathology, dietary restraint, body image, and self-esteem.\n\nResults\nParticipants' mean weight gain was approximately 3 lbs (1.5 kg), and among those who gained weight, the mean gain was 7.32 lbs (3.3 kg). Dietary restraint in September did not predict weight change in April, but participants who lost weight reported significantly greater dietary restraint than those participants who gained weight. Eating disorder symptoms increased significantly from September to April. Dietary restraint, concern about the "Freshman 15", and self-esteem in September uniquely predicted EDE-Q Weight and Shape Concern subscale scores in April.\n\nDiscussion\nFemale students in their first year of college gain a small but significant amount of weight, and weight gain was mostly unrelated to dietary restraint. Disordered eating increases during the first year of college and, is predicted by prospective dietary restraint and concerns about weight gain.

Which is leading to an increased rate in educational difficulities. Many of those survivors had trouble in reading specifically. This study also shows that women have a higher increased risk for learning disiblites.

Journal of Higher Education 80.3 (2009), 315-333. This study examines college athletes that do educationally enriching activities, does it help their academic outcomes. The study found that student backgrounds had little effect on academic outcome, but engagement in activities does.

The article studies the effects that childhood cancer had on people. It talks about how it effects their education, marriage, employment, ect. In the conclusion the results showed that the patients had significant differences in education and health insurence when compared with their siblings. Gender also played a big effect in the study.

The study took 211 college athletes at a Midwest Division I University and compared academic motivation and athletic motivation to academic performance.

This article outlines how colleges can help make college athletes better their education. It also says how colleges do not do enough to help their athletes get a better education. Since some college sports athletes are treated so well and are given so many benefits concerning athletics their education suffers.

Thois article is about the connection between special educators and cancer suvivors. Studying how many of the survivors and their siblings were diagnosed with learning disibilites.Also if their disibilities have anything to do with genetics. All of the children studied were at least five years progdiagnosis.

Zoeller, Robert F. "Exercise and Cognitive Function: Can Working Out Train the Brain, Too?." American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine 4.5 (2010), 397-409. This article studies the relationship between working out and the functions of the brain. It says that studies with children, adults, and elderly people have proved that physical activity does have a positive impact on brain functions while cognitive function in young adults does not change with physical activity. Regular aerobic exercise and fitness increase brain volume and promote brain growth.

Sexual abuse survivors showed much lower rates of affection towards their children, higher rates of aggression and mouch more frequent uses of corporal punishment than those of mothers who had not been abused.

It gives percentages of how many had to repeat a grade along with how many had learning disibilities. The article also explains the socail problems they had as children leading to them not having a very close friends through school. Also it reports how their medical problems let to them physically having problems that interfied with their learning (i.e. tumors).

The main focus of this article is how important communication is when it comes to literacy and physical education. It explains that students should learn physical literacy and fully understand it. Another topic touched on is how speaking and presentation skills are important when it comes to literacy and physical activity. Without proper communication and presentation skills, the learning process can often be effected negatively.

Salmon, Jo, et al. "Leisure-Time, Occupational, and Household Physical Activity among Professional, Skilled, and Less-Skilled Workers and Homemakers." Preventive Medicine 30.3 (2000), 191-199. This study examines the difference in the physical activity between people of different skill levels in certain jobs. Physical activity in this study could be doing activities at home, at a gym, or possibly for your job. The study concluded that no association could be made between occupation and physical activity for men, but it could for women.
