Parents are encouraged to promote their child's early learning right from the start (infancy). Parents should play with their children at home and at playgrounds. Parents should aslo read their children stories. These ideas for parents come from the government because they feel that parents should do more to help their child's learning.

The survey concentrated on what types of activities parents engaged with their child. The survey found that it was important for parents to read out loud to the children because it helped them understand "book related" concepts. Concepts such as turning the page, reading left to right, and understanding that books relay a message. This article also states that a parents cannot offer the support their child needs without professional help. Often times parents want to read to their child, but find that they don't know how to go about it, or even what books they should read to them. The article lastly states that parents should also learn Braille. This will open up more opportunities and experiences that a child can have. An experience such as having time as a family to learn Braille and make it a more fun and enjoyable experience for the child.

The article suggests that young adults who have a strong family background, and have received financial knowledge from either their parents, or a close mentor, will do much better with managing their finances. The journal's main emphasis was to show which parts of financial literacy was influenced by these standards. Although most students financial knowledge was no greater then the next, most that came from a strong family background had higher financial behavior and financial attitude.

Kasari, Connie, et al. "Parental Perspectives on Inclusion: Effects of Autism and Down Syndrome." Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders 29.4 (1999), 297-305. Using the child's diagnosis, age, and current educational placement, a study was done to observe the effects of these factors on parent's perceptions of inclusion for their child with disabilities. Parents in the study filled out surveys asking questions on how they felt about their childs current educational situation and views on inclusive programs. The studies showed clear results. Parents of patients with Down syndrome showed a significant difference in support of inclusive programs over parents of children with autism. Age also played a role.

This article is about how parents can help teachers at school with their autistic children. Parents are using a research method called photovoice. Photovoice pairs participant-generated photographs with interviews. This helps teachers learn activities they participate in at home, how the parents engage with the children, and goals and needs of parents for helping their children. This article also explains how children react with these research methods, and how it helps them develop and learn.

Shim, Soyeon, et al. "Financial Socialization of First-year College Students: The Roles of Parents, Work, and Education." Journal of Youth & Adolescence 39.12 (2010): 1457-1470. This study tested over two thousand students on their financial behaviors, financial tendencies, and financial knowledge. The study showed that students who had grown up with parents with good financial tendencies, also showed these strong tendencies. The study also said that when the students tested had developed good techniques at a young age, they were more then likely to have good techniques as adults. Lastly, the study confirmed that it takes a combination of financial literacy, financial behavior, and financial knowledge together in order to achieve a set of strong techniques.

Results showed that parenting had a direct involvement with school engagement, running away and well-being. Neglect during childhood was related to abuse while sexual abuse and living in a disadvantaged neighborhood were left with worse well-being. Running away was definately associated with participation in violent activities. Gender also moderated the relationship with running away and abuse in favor of females.

It gives a couple strategies that have proven beneficial. For example, students should take frequent breaks for bathroom, etc. Also, visual schedules for class have been proven to be key. In addition, it touches on the idea of color-coding for visual learners.

The article gives the reader the results from a questionaire sent to the parents of children with ADHD. The results from the parents showed that children struggled communicating with others due to their symptoms. Also, the kids had problems comprehending what they read. The children then had major problems in school with reading and writing aspects. The results showed that language comprehension is related to the learning and social problems of children with ADHD.

This article is all about transitioning children from a psychiatric hospital into school and the role special education teachers plan in that transition. It discusses the relationship between parents, hospital staff, and the special educators in the efforts to make the transition for the child less dramatic. It also talks about the behavior problems of the child once they are back in a school setting. This research was conducted with special educators to develop what skills and resources they need to help the child succeed.

This article discusses how hospitals are trying to put programs together to help those children that are long term patience with the learning process. Many children are posing disabilities that need to be confronted before they are put back into a regular classroom. The article goes on to talk about that teachers need to empower parents and hospital staffs to come up with innovative ways to teacher children the curriculum that they should be learning. Children with learning disabilities are popping up more frequently and we need to take action as a society to address those issues at an early age.

The purpose of the experiment was to bring awareness to the students at the end to show them what possible mistakes, or poor expenditures they had made. The study showed that when students tracked how they spent their money, they universally increased their spending knowledge, and made very few careless purchases. When these students actually tracked how they spent their money the study showed that they realized the values that their parents and guardians had taught them.

Johnson makes clear that in the United States there needs to me more emphasis on teaching Braille to young students. It shows the concerns that parents, teachers, and students have about visually impaired children are no longer learning to read and write Braille. Due to the advances in technology Braille has become obsolete. This article gives the different perspectives of both teachers and parents when it comes to their children learning Braille. Finally Johnson says that he believes that there should be more of an integration of visually impaired children into regular classrooms. He also knows that this will not be easy. Although the students will benefit from being in an integrated class room, they need daily contact with a teacher who specializes in working with visually impaired student.
