"What is the Teacher Education and Professional Development program? The Teacher Education and Professional Development program is a partnership between USAID, the Ministry of Education and the private sector. The Government's commitment to universal primary education includes a commitment to improving the quality of education even as the number of students increases. The program builds the skills and expertise of educators, and enables Kenya's public teacher training colleges to prepare teachers to deliver quality education by strengthening pre-service training and linking it to in-service professional development. USAID supports this program by transferring knowledge of international practices in teacher education and institution building, and by providing technology to enhance teacher training and the classroom experience. The Permanent Secretary of Education visited the pilot sites and evaluated the program to inform a Government strategy to roll out integration of technology in classrooms throughout Kenya. "

"The Platform's work plan 2014 was endorsed by board members at the beginning of February following a consultation process of about three months. Its outcomes are orientated to attain the revised Platform goal to promote effective policy and investment in rural development. Activities are planned under four pillars: strategic initiative, targeted advocacy with policy and decision makers, knowledge sharing, and networking and cooperation. Several thematic streams from post-2015 to nutrition, land and livestock etc. as well as input, reporting and co-organising from relevant international events will be implemented. Furthermore, Platform evaluation will help define the Platform's future and the design of its new Strategic Plan. The 2014 work plan is designed in a way general enough to provide for the flexibility a network needs, but also detailed enough to allow for a neat work process."

"Ten years ago, the UNESCO International Meeting on Innovation and Excellence in TVET Teacher/Trainer Education held in Hangzhou, China, asked for developing TVET into an internationally acknowledged scientific community in order to professionalize TVET teacher/trainer education and to integrate TVET as sustainable, reproductive and innovative national scientific systems into national systems of innovation. The First World Congress on Teacher Education for Technical and Vocational Education and Training held in 2008 in Bandung, Indonesia reaffirmed this request by demanding that TVET teacher/trainer education should encompass "studies in the analysis, design and evaluation of: (a) vocational learning, educational and qualification processes, (b) occupational work and business processes, and (c) technology as an object of work and learning processes (d) as well as critical pedagogy for social change," and by asking for establishing respective "frameworks for promoting the continuing professional development of TVET practitioners." Evaluation du pilotage de la formation professionnelle par les conseils régionaux

Ce rapport présente les résultats de l'évaluation de la stratégie de coopération de l'UE avec la République de Madagascar pour la période 2002-2013. Les principaux objectifs sont de fournir, aux services de l'UE et à un public plus large, une évaluation indépendante et globale des relations passées et présentes de la coopération avec Madagascar et d'identifier les leçons clés afin d'améliorer les stratégies et les programmes actuels et futurs de l'UE.

Pour que la SCAPE soit un succès, les autorités doivent suivre les progrès, identifier les éventuels blocages et les difficultés et tenter de les corriger. C'est la seule façon d'avancer. C'est aussi une exigence vis à vis de nos partenaires."

Bank's e-institute for development has published a stand-alone on-line course to engage adult learners using a dynamic, online learning approach that connects users to the leading approaches to Agricultural Innovation System (AIS). The course contains eight modules including 'assessing, prioritizing, monitoring and evaluating AISA', 'agricultural research within an AIS' and 'rethinking agricultural education to support AIS'.

"Le ministère de l'agriculture du Gabon a annoncé son objectif de faire passer la contribution du secteur au PIB du pays de 1% à 15% d'ici 2020, afin de diversifier une économie trop dépendante du pétrole. Il veut notamment développer les cultures commerciales (d'huile de palme, sucre, café et cacao) afin d'assurer la sécurité alimentaire du pays et d'exporter sur les marchés régionaux et internationaux. La production a déjà été stimulée par la compagnie singapourienne Olam International, qui a réalisé d'importants investissements en partenariat public-privé avec le gouvernement. Le Gabon projette de produire 250 000 tonnes d'huile de palme en 2020, contre 50 000 actuellement. S'il dispose d'un million d'hectares de terres cultivables et d'un régime fiscal favorable aux investisseurs, il manque en revanche de main-d'œuvre agricole. Le ministère prévoit, pour y remédier, d'améliorer l'enseignement agricole."
