"I just discovered Orange Slice, a Google Add-on that offers both teacher and student rubrics.  A handy productivity tool, Orange Slice plays nice with Google Classroom and makes it super easy to evaluate student work in Docs. The Orange Slide Teacher Rubric allows teachers to add rubrics to students' assignments for grading.  The Orange Slide Student Rubric is designed for group collaborations or peer reviewing.  Students could add the Orange Slide Student rubric to their own accounts to evaluate their classmates' work, once the teacher or librarian sets up the Teacher Rubric."

"Planning for Earth Day 2014 is well underway around the world. Bring environmental issues to your classroom with resources from PBS LearningMedia. Highlights include an animated video from Loop Scoop using orange juice consumption to teach about biodegradation, a lesson tracking waste in neighborhoods from America Revealed, and a QUEST video transporting viewers to the beginning of the environmental movement. PBS LearningMedia allows 3 resource views before it will ask you to create a free account to gain full access."

"A group of children on a playground, each kid clutching a slip of paper with a number on it, moves along a line drawn in chalk, comparing numbers as they go and sorting themselves into ascending order from one to ten. Another group of children, sitting in a circle, passes pieces of fruit - an apple, an orange - from hand to hand until the color of the fruit they're holding matches the color of the T-shirt they're wearing. It may not look like it, but the children engaged in these exercises are learning computer science. In the first activity, they've turned themselves into a sorting network: a strategy computers use to sort random numbers into order. Amanda was referring to a different kind of stardom: on TikTok, a social media app where users post short funny videos, usually set to music, that is enjoying a surge in popularity among teenagers around the world and has been downloaded 1.4 billion times, according to SensorTower.
