OATD aims to be the best possible resource for finding open access graduate theses and dissertations published around the world. Metadata (information about the theses) comes from over 600 colleges, universities, and research institutions. OATD currently indexes over 1.5 million theses and dissertations.

Novels-On-Line is an ongoing project making freely accessible full-text transcripts of some of the rarest works in the Chawton House Library collection. These texts, which explore such broad-ranging themes as satire, slavery, marriage, witchcraft and piracy, signal the rich texture and innovative character of women's writing in the period 1600 to 1830. In bringing these little-known novels to a wider audience, it is hoped to stimulate interest in these works amongst a new generation of readers and to encourage critical scholarship of some of the more obscure texts and authors represented in the collection.

The Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) is an international organization that, through leadership and innovation, promotes the adoption, creation, use, dissemination and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations. The NDLTD encourages and supports the efforts of institutes of higher education and their communities to develop electronic publishing and digital libraries (including repositories), thus enabling them to share knowledge more effectively in order to unlock the potential benefits worldwide.

Postcolonial digital humanities has taken shape recently as an emergent academic field. Its lineage reaches back to the 1990s, when scholars Deepika Bahri and George Landow first created websites such as "Postcolonial Studies at Emory" (original version) and "The Postcolonial Literature and Culture Web." These scholars marshaled the text-based internet culture of Web 1.0 to establish sites of knowledge; identify key terms, theorists, and stakes for postcolonial studies; and to publicize the field. This website website addresses these opportunities by outlining the shape of the contemporary 'postcolonial digital humanities' through interrogating the ways postcolonial studies has evolved through different phases of internet culture from the original Web 1.0 postcolonial websites, to the "transmedia" shift beginning in the mid-2000s, to the later move to Web 2.0 and the rise of social media cultures.

Booktrust, which runs the translated fiction website, is committed to encouraging people of all ages and cultures to discover and enjoy reading. We are proud to be able to expand our work into the world of translated fiction and believe we are well placed to celebrate and broaden readers' awareness of these amazing novels. Created in 1971 by the French Department of Education, The National Centre for the Reproduction of PhD Theses reproduces all authorized French university PhD theses on different material (in paper, microfilm and electronic format).

EUSTACE is the Edinburgh University Speech Timing Archive and Corpus of English. The EUSTACE corpus comprises 4608 spoken sentences recorded at the department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of Edinburgh University. These sentences, spoken by six speakers of British English, were designed to examine a number of durational effects in speech and are controlled for length and phonetic content. Subconstituents of key words in each sentence have been identified by labels in xlabel (ESPS) format and notes have been made about the prosodic realisation of the sentences. It is hoped that these recordings will be useful for phonetics researchers and speech technologists working on synthesis and recognition.

EThOS is the UK's national thesis service which aims to maximise the visibility and availability of the UK's doctoral research theses.It supports the UK Government's open access principle that publications resulting from publicly-funded research should be made freely available for all researchers, providing opportunities for further research. It demonstrates the quality of UK research, and helps attract students and research investment into UK Higher Education.

In the eighteenth century, a linguistic big bang spun off a new etymological universe: the language of sensibility. "Sensibility" and its related terms either appeared for the first time, took on meanings unique to the period, or gained enriched connotations. The denotations of these new linguistic planets have proved as elusive as the rings of Saturn, however. This hypertext offers a new approach to understanding the language of sensibility, one that accounts for the multiple possibilities of meaning. Rather than attempting hard-line definitions, this project offers the tools for recognizing the multivalent connotations of such sensibilious words as "virtue," "sense," and "benevolence." Our hypertext groups excerpts from major words of sensibility according to 24 primary words; we imagine the sensibilious reader exploring these passages to glean a new understanding of the vocabulary and the literature of the period.

This Web site has been compiled by Professor Ashliman, emeritus Professor of the University of Pittsburgh. He has collected and translated ten short legends about witchcraft, which illustrate varying conceptualisations of the figure of the witch in German, English, Scottish and Irish mythology. The origins of the tales are provided and these short tales are excellent for discerning the functionality of the application of the figure of the witch to a particular narrative. The topos of the witch is used in a variety of discourses illustrated here. There are a few images and these accounts are excellent for illustrating the varying typology of legend themes.

The Jane Austen's Fiction Manuscripts Digital Edition gathers together in the virtual space of the web some 1100 pages of fiction written in Jane Austen's own hand. Through digital reunification, it is now possible to access, read, and compare high quality images of original manuscripts whose material forms are scattered around the world in libraries and private collections. Unlike the famous printed novels, all published in a short span between 1811 and 1818, these manuscripts trace Jane Austen's development as a writer from childhood to the year of her death; that is, from 1787 (aged 11 or 12) to 1817 (aged 41). Not only do they provide a unique visual record of her imagination from her teenage experiments to her last unfinished writings, these pages represent one of the earliest collections of creative writings in the author's hand to survive for a British novelist.

The Shelley-Godwin Archive will provide the digitized manuscripts of Percy Bysshe Shelley, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, William Godwin, and Mary Wollstonecraft, bringing together online for the first time ever the widely dispersed handwritten legacy of this uniquely gifted family of writers. The result of a partnership between the New York Public Library and the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities, in cooperation with Oxford's Bodleian Library, the S-GA also includes key contributions from the Huntington Library, the British Library, and the Houghton Library. In total, these partner libraries contain over 90% of all known relevant manuscripts. The site is currently in Beta release and works best when viewed in Chrome.

This Robbins Library Digital Project seeks to capture postmedieval illustrated versions of Chaucer's work. The project provides annotations for books containing illustrated versions of Chaucer's writings and organizes these images by character/work for easy accessibility.
