Many librarians are interested in finding new ways to encourage more students and teachers to use library materials and do high level research. Their efforts are often limited by available time or unfamiliar subject matter. For that reason, librarians should be excited about the teaching possibilities available through the Our Documents initiative. This program offers school librarians ideas and materials to improve use of their collections. Here are some suggestions for using Our Documents in a school library.
Judi Jagger, 2011 WA Children's Book Council judge, has developed her own blog. It is a great read for anyone interested in children's and YA literature.
Naomi Bates' site for book trailer resources. It offers information about creating good book trailers as well as where you can find resources for creating your own.
This site offers free reading promotion contests. Over 150 authors for YA and children's books have created trivia sheets on their books to encourage and reward students for reading.
Gizmo's Freeware provides a list of over 250 sites that offer free ebooks for download or online viewing. The list is organised alphabetically and in genres.
