      Hi Diana - LION is a bit like Merlot for librarians but more limited in scope as it's only videos. The quality is high and videos don't have any branding so that they can be utilized by any library.

      I added the free version of RealTime through clicking on site link on one of the videos and the videos play successfully. Although Mozilla FF is not on the list of supported browsers, I was able to get MozFF to recognize the Real Time plug-in after I installed it on my hard drive.

      Perhaps there are activities that can be adapted to online course environment? Click on "Go to Material", above, scroll down and click on "Database development" and select "by grade level" or "by content"

    I am considering whether to add the entire resource or just a few videos with a "for more of this ..." to my module on 21st Century Learning. What really excites me about this resource is the implications for case studies in methods courses in the B-6 program ... can even be shared with Secondary Ed and TESOL. You may want to share this with your grade level, Building Leadership Team, or your PD person. A GREAT free resource for meaningful, asynchronous tech integration training.

      I Love this. I couldn't bookmark the actual site, but its like a powerpoint type presentation on plagiarism. At the end there is a quiz. The student can have their results emailed to the instructor. I will also use this in my citation module.

  • Abstract: This paper reports on a two-phase exploratory study that involved student use of the asynchronous multimedia communication tool VoiceThread within a business policy course. In the first phase, students participated in a VoiceThread exercise consisting of an exam review followed by a survey on the use of VoiceThread. Of the 22 participants (from a class of 61 graduating seniors), 64% specified they would like to use VoiceThread for future learning activities, and 73% indicated they would recommend VoiceThread to peers for the purpose of delivering presentations. In the second phase, 13 of the 22 respondents to the first phase were sent follow-up questions to elicit their perspectives as to whether the use of VoiceThread satisfied Chickering and Gamson's (1987) Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education. Eight of the 13 students responded, with almost all responses being positive with respect to the Seven Principles. The results lend some initial support to the idea that VoiceThread can be an effective tool for facilitating learning activities in business and other courses.

    This is part of Kenzie Waller's Lesson Plan to use Voicethread for Digital Story Telling Digital Story Telling Kenzie Waller Problem or Need: Students need motivation and excitement to practice writing. Developing a technology rich way to practice writing will engage students. At the end of the process students will have a published piece of writing with feedback from other students and the teacher. A real-world performance: All students need to be able to communicate using proper English in the form of speaking and writing. An instructional objective: Develop a technology-rich writing lesson plan that align to state standards and benchmarks. Also, using a professional critique process of their own work and the work of others using a rubric and recording comments.

  • This site discusses the effects of color on emotions and how we link colors to emotions.  For example red is often linked to anger while green creates a calming effect because of it resemblence to nature.  This site has several pages discussing different principles, such as how businesses use certain colors to encourage purchases.  Also, how certain colors in food make you want to eat more , etc.  Within each page are articles that cover the different principles and theorys.  Overall this site is well organized and easy to follow while containing a great deal of information.

      This resource is great because almost all students need to learn about search strategy but they tend to find the concepts BORING. This video is really engaging and fun. It pulls the viewer in from the very beginning.

    I will use this website to support my graphing module. I will use it to provide both visuals and hands-on simulations. The instructor will provide the visuals with directions. The students will then get to attempt the problems on their own. This website will provide students with the practice they need.

  • We then have expansions of range and complexity as we move into the Baroque era. The Classical era gives us the emotional power associated with such composers as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Romanticism then transforms the rigid styles and forms of the Classical era into more individualistic stylizations.
