There was discussion a year ago about pdf support--being able to highlight pdf files and search the highlights in diigo and/or making Acrobat highlights into diigo highlights. That would be SO useful to me.
A workaround I use is to convert to html with pdfDownload or google's cache feature, but this has its problems.
Any chance of a dedicated annotate-pdf feature coming along?
Sorry, we experienced some technical difficulties when we tried to find the pdf highlight API. We will implement it as soon as we find the proper Highlight and sticky note APIs in PDF.

Diigo won't be able to build off of the Acrobat product suite to place Diigo Highlights and sticky notes on PDFs. Adobe keeps those cherished functions to themselves. There are third party PDF rasterization code packages that can be licensed, but it would require Diigo building their own PDF viewer and displaying it in the browser. Something that may not be on Diigo's radar for some time. My former company had much experience with PDF rasterization and have had success incorporating third party solutions into our desktop program.
The project is in-progress. Our long-term goal is to make all clients support PDF annotations. Our short-term goal is make this feature available on website,Diigo ext for chrome and ff. It will be available on diigo website soon. When it is released, you can upload&annotate on PDF without installation of any other extensions. It is super easy to search annotations as well. Please stay tuned.

- I don't know whether that's current, but truncating the URL leads to

i created a topic "Diigo Feature Request: (Post Which New Features u want to see in Diigo) "
http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/diigo-feature-request-post-which-new-features-u-want-to-see-in-diigo-42565
to consolidate all Diigo Feature requests . it will help Diigo Developers to view all feature request in one place.
Initial concerns:
* the PDF is copied
* the copy is converted from PDF presumably to some other format
* the conversion is represented in Flash
* the WebNotes copy/representation does not refer to the URL of original
* workflow: the WebNotes user's annotations can not be saved (converted) to PDF, so merger with annotations on the original PDF may be impossible
* attribution: unless I'm missing something, there's no way to distinguish between annotations of multiple users.
Just because such things can be done, does not mean that they should be done.
IMO It's:
* easier to use a free application to annotate a PDF
- then share that PDF, if you wish
- with the option of other users adding annotations
* less desirable to pay a premium for conversion from PDF
- and disallow other users' annotations
- and lose workflow options.
