  I haven't actually tried searching for foo but here's a real example
  
  1. http://groups.diigo.com/search_topics?group_name=Diigo_HQ&what=honey
  2. http://groups.diigo.com/search_topics?group_name=Diigo_HQ&what=honeypot
  
  Search (1) for
  honey
  fails to find the word
  honeypot
  in http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/an-extensible-conversation-should-more-easily-allow-a-participant-to-invite-a-person-who-is-in-conversation-elsewhere-8668
  
  Is it because the word honeypot is a hyperlink?

  failed to find the word
  honeypot
  
  Since then, I discovered
  http://groups.diigo.com/search_topics?group_name=Diigo_HQ&what=honey*
  
  - that is,
  *
  as a wildcard.
  
  I don't know the contexts in which such wildcards apply.
