Phenomenal page about integrating ICT into the classroom witha wide variety of rubrics based upon Bloom's taxonomy. You'll see blog journaling, wiki editing, threaded discussion, bookmarking rubrics, search rubrics, podcasting rubrics, audio conferencing, data analysis, and collaborative rubrics. I haven't been through all of these but would love it if we could go through them and work on them. They are in PDF format, but it would be great to share and edit them collaboratively. Very nice website.

Excellent resource for parents or teachers to take to school administrators to advocate for these sorts of programs in their school. I highly recommend this site.

Soaring numbers of teachers are calling helplines for advice on how to cope after being "cyberbullied" on the internet by their pupils. A survey by the Teacher Support Network found 17 per cent of teachers had suffered cyberbullying. Pupils were responsible in more than a third of cases.

NetAlert is the Australian Government's online safety program. Primary grade students can follow a flash animation adventure called CyberQuoll while students in secondary grades have their own hip adventure called Cybernetrix. Teacher support materials are also available.

Cybersmart kids is a community awareness project developed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). The site contains cyber rules, chat rules and mobile rules for kids as well as links to safe sites. Australian schools can also register for access to the online game, Cybersmart Detectives, in which players learn about managing bullying behaviors both offline and online.

Australian online safety site CyberNetrix offers computer-based activities that have been designed for secondary students from years seven to nine as a cross-curricula, cross-year level resource. There is a teacher guide and 11 downloadable student activities.

Teachable moment: In addition to the three important lessons, the teacher guided students through a process of creating and posting their own version of appropriate rules for cell phones in school. Over five dozen student comments are posted. Interesting stuff.

Internet buses may soon be hauling children to school in many other districts, particularly those with long bus routes.
